Realistically is Howe keeping Bournemouth up anymore of an achievement than Martinez keeping Wigan up ?

See him even using injuries as an excuse is an immediate red flag. He spent a lot on that squad and when it went bad he had no idea what to do and they completely fell apart and that is on the manager.

It’s not just that “he got them relegated” if you look at the actual season they pretty much went into free fall and when that happened he had no idea how to stop it. If he is coming in here, he is coming into a worse situation and by far a worse team than that Bournemouth side.

His teams defensive record is a huge concern, the fact he went down with a better squad than we have now. His last 27 games (which is pretty much what we have left) he failed to win 21 of them and lost 19. He seems to have no plan b, and Bruce annihilated his side ?

I hope I’m proved wrong and he is a success but I’ve always thought he’s overrated and would be a disaster here

Regardless if we want or don’t want Howe or Martinez they just need to make a decision and stick to it because any longer than another game for Jones and we may as well admit relegation.

I get the point you are making but he did spend a ridiculous amount of money in doing so and his last season at Bournemouth was a disaster as was his transfer record.

The worst thing with the last 24 hours is it’s going to be hard for anyone who comes in now to use what is usually a feel good factor off new manager. They and we all know they weren’t first choice and if it is Howe or Martinez I would be shocked if they saw the season out.

Again they could calm everything down with some communication. Are we looking to hire a sporting director, will someone be in before the crucial international break. They really need to start communicating.

Im completely against appointing Howe but give me him over Martinez any day of the week

Ornstein was clearly spot on with the Emery news so no reason to doubt Howe is next in line.

All this guessing and worry would or could be avoided if they communicate their ideas as to how they are going to take us forward.

He was the second choice behind Emery.

Be interesting to see how they try to spin it if/when Howe is appointed. They have talked about due diligence and the process but no idea how that can take a month and lead to Eddie Howe.
