I'm not trying to be arsey, i'd just like to hear your reasoning, why is it the best we have? 3-5-2's always been a recipe for disaster for me. Its a system that relies on wing-backs, and Zog and Duff are just far too powderpuff for that to ever work, imo. I know your not being arsey. My reasoning for the 3-5-2 (JK probs couldn't get it functioning correctly I i'm being honest) The movement on the flanks from Duff and Zog would be fantastic, also giving us loads of width. Joas through the middle as the playmaker/carrying/making killer passes. Barton n Guthrie doing the dirty work. Owen as the finisher and Martins as the raw pace/outlet. I take your point in having to use Duff and Zog to defend as well I thought Owen represented that role expertly at the back end of last season, aswell as chipping in with plenty of goals. It's the best he's ever played for us, probably; i never actually realised he was such a good passer of the ball, but he was providing two or three killer passes every game. I don't know a lot about Jonas' passing ability yet, but i know that he can play a ball into the box from wide - i've seen it live. Jonas' is main attribute is his pace and ability to drive at players... you need space ahead of you in order to do that (ie, running into the corners when you're on the wing)... stick him in the middle and he doesn't have that space to run into and i reckon his clumsy (unique ) style could see him lose the ball quite a lot. I wouldn't play him straight down the middle, personally, i think it'd be a complete waste of talent - especially when you've got serial non-crossers like Duff and N'Zogbia on the wings instead. With the defense aswell, i think you're just wasting talent by forcing Habib Beye inside. People slate his attacking prowess, but he's never a player to sit back and simply defend. When he's playing with a competent wide-man, he's so much better. He worked well with Jonas last night and he worked well with Geremi down the right during the purple patch last season. I reckon he is probably a good CB, Beye, but a better full-back. Not forgetting, he's got license to use his superb slide-tackling ability when he's at full-back. I appreciate that most of what i've said there is explaining why 4-4-2 is better (rather than '3-5-2 won't work ). But that's where the Duff/Zog defending situation comes in; we'd ship goals for fun relying on them to be wing-backs. Fair points, I would be relying on Duff and Zog having superb games everytime.

I agree with, if KK was here we would be higher up the league.

Do you also believe England should play Lampard & Gerrard together? No.

Or maybe we could play him as a winger, and not out of position @ people wanting him through the middle. Laugh all you want, But Beye Colo Taylor Duff Barton Guthrie N'Zogbia Jonas Martins Owen Is pretty much our best line up.
  8. Aye, Sholas name was read out against Man City and he was boo'd before he was even on the pitch.

it's called basic football ability. I was being sarcastic about he rest of the team I know. Sadly it's true though. Very true and sacres he shit out of me, especially the last two matches. Need to be better in midfeild. Much better. If we go a goal or two up against Villa and he decides to sit back again then he must put an extra midfielder on.

Jonas also has that amazing ability to hold on to the ball which we as a team really lack.
  12. I see people at the match react like we have conceeded a goal when one of our players misplaces a pass in the first 5 minutes of a game.

True, drop a defender and go with Beye, Colo and Taylor as a back three then bang Owen on.
  14. The guy next to me at the match is fkcing pain in the arse. If he put as much energy behind the team as he does moaning about it he would probs have a better experience at the match.

His energy, work rate and creativiyt in the middle would help us no end. Duff Barton Guthrie Zogbia Jonas Martins
  16. Need to be strong in this match, they have the player to hurt us. i'd be happy with a point but would love all 3.

    Jonas Gutierrez

He put in a quality cross yesterday, right infront of Barton an Martins. Brilliant player. Shame we aint got a Shearer up front for him to aim at.
  18. There is no way back now, we will be sold.
  19. I'm convinced he was never here long term now anyway. Buy the club turn the finances around flog it for a profit. let other people run the club on his behalf and he just enjoys the footy until its sold.
  20. We did it in the second half against Sunderland. Its now happened twice.
  21. I agree, don't get why people are getting so agitated over it. JK is here to keep the ship afloat at the moment. This means beating teams like west brom, hopefully getting the odd win against the mid table sides and most likely getting stuffed by the top 8 teams. We are not going to playing incredible football and we are going to have to hold on sometimes to win games. I know points mean safety and we know we wontbe playing fantastic football but to allow th team to sit back so far and invite a team on to you so much has to be stamped out now. A better side would have taken their chances.

  23. Manager advisng the team to sit back and hold the lead. A better team would have torn us a new back 4. Taylor scares the s*** out of me. In fairness, Kinnear said we sat back too much in the second half. I don't think he told them to do that. Why the fuck didnt he come out and tell them to put some fucking pressure on then. Or bang an extra midfielder on to help them out.
