It's been interesting how often Santon and Jonas have switched positions. Not just an overlap, but a real switch.
-
Perch playing well, but to be fair, this game was the best setup for him, since his height doesn't matter as much against a team that keeps it on the ground.
-
Shaka Hislop is so terrible

Someone is still going to score here, just stating the obvious

"great lazy skills"

haha after all that talk at HT here, Obertan with a great run, Ameobi with a good cross to Ba

Well this is probably the best strategy to cover for Perch and Simmo - don't give them the ball
-
Santon clearly great on the ball, hopefully he does as well tracking back

Loven is..good?
He's been decent like. Though we all knew that.

Was the pen legitimate?
Aye
Sturridge was already throwing himself before the contact, but it was still a penalty

The lack of Jonas is really exposing Raylor

I love having Warren Barton as a studio analyst here in the USA. He's clearly and openly biased in our favor, just grinning ear to ear right now with our point earned.

This article captures my feeling about Mario perfectly, about the ambivalence towards the caricature (honestly, too long to post the entire thing, but well worth a read):

I'd give Jonas at least a 7.5. Thought he was fantastic

I'm not always a HBA supporter, but I think he makes sense in this second half. Best and BA have played basically the same role so far, Best has looked rusty, though done some decent hold-up play.
