Mbappe just had a penalty saved against Montpellier, which was made to be retaken as the keeper was off his line. The second penalty was then saved again off the post, and he subsequently missed the open net off the rebound. Tough start for him.

This is the first time this group of players and manager have been in a situation like this. Nerves and foolishness are expected. We just have to survive. There is not long now.

This boy has never looked the part when I have seen him for the national team, tbh. He reminds me of myself on the pitch, just seems slow of both foot and mind for the modern game.
However, he's constantly scored for Genk, can clearly finish, and as probably the tallest player in the league, will be a threat aerially at least. Will be interested to see how he does.

PSG have each of the best players from arguably the three best football nations on Earth in their team and are still not good.

Osimhen is a true star, amazing athlete, good technique, and hustles like he is still selling plaintain chips on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. What a goal and what a player.

I’ve not seen a lot of him is he any good ?
No. He has the attributes to be good: powerful, fast athlete, good dribbler, high workrate. However, he is just very unproductive; poor decisions, rash tackles, bad finishing. Still potential but 30+ million is a lot.
OM look like they are going to sign Ounahi for 10 million Euro and for Terem Moffi, it seems as though he will decide between OM and Nice. Surprised no English clubs are after either, they would improve most teams and Premier League money parle francais. Good for Ligue 1 they are staying though.

City have two dangerous, direct forwards up top and are playing as if they have a false nine; they do not utlilise them at all.

Vardy is slow.

I still cannot believe that nonsense from Otamendi. 75th+ minute with a 2-0 lead and you are doing this. What is wrong with him? The defense and Paredes have injected panic into this team all tournament for no reason.

My wife was raised partially in Paris and supports France. If they win again I will have to hear about it from her and family for four more years. I cannot abide by it. Between Les Bleus and PSG I am tired of her happiness and my pain.
It is very hard for me to support Argentina, given the history, but Messi truly deserves this moment. There will never be another like him, and I am tired of those who seek to diminish his achievements. So, I will go for 2-1 Argentina. Think the will look comfortable at 2-0, then struggle to hold it as they tire. Should be good match.

Old Messi is hilarious. He looks absolutely exhausted just walking around and then produces something like that out of nothing. Treated Gvardiol like his child.

Already is i think.
What about the two previous matches makes you think it is impossible for Argentina to give back a two goal lead?

How many players do Brazil want to have forward up a goal in the 117th minute? Croatia broke 4 v. 4, that is not acceptable defending for the situation at all.

Danilo has looked very questionable this half.

I do not have any more particular dislike for these countries than any other part of the world, but it would be absolutely delightful if the entire Iberian Peninsula was sent home tonight.

More utter trash. I've hardly seen one good penalty yet.
Busquets especially was rubbish. Neymar, Balotelli, Jorginho, etc. are fantastic with their technique at penalties, but I do not know why every player thinks they should copy these players who have a special ability. For the average player, the best tactic is to simply pick a side and hit it with a good amount of pace. You will score 60+% of the time if you do this. Hard to understand.

ALLEZ MAROC!!!

Where did they find this Cheddira? Horrendous forward.

It would be a shame if Morocco lose this match. Frankly, they have been the superior side. The plan has worked to perfection and they have had the better chances. Spain are so unwilling to vary their play; it is maddening. Genuinely tiresome to watch.

Probably is.
I like that this nonsense now expands to random African people born and raised in Europe. KK just declined immediately when he joined Chelsea for whatever reason, hope it is just loss of form, but worrying how long it has been now.

So at odds with their game up until then. They were superb up until the goal. Closing down and cutting the passing lanes really well in addition to looking bright on turnovers.I bet they will come out and show this kind of positive play again in the second half, but it is likely too late after dropping the level for the those ten minutes.

Mental collapse from Senegal after the goal. Awful defending to just let Bellingham run through in that situation. No one on the team has a booking yet. Bring the man down and take one! Tired of seeing this kind of foolishness from our teams.
-
Serbia are catastrophic defensively. Leaking goals and chances everywhere the last two matches.

The perfect result. Honestly, for many Ghanaians just leaving Suarez in tears will be enough for them Uruguay behaved disgracefully as always. Glad they knocked out Ghana, but it's a positive their brand of football won't be in the knockouts.
It seems like Japan and South Korea are involved in some 3rd MD drama every World Cup. Those teams never do things the simple way.

I think that is a penalty, but understand how the ref could come to that decision, tbh. Very lucky. Amartey is a disastrous defender. I do not understand how he has lasted this long in the Premier League or how Black Stars cannot find anyone better. He shutout SE in the qualifier, so maybe I should not talk.

I'm meant to be transiting USA to Nigeria that weekend. Currently looking into if I can spend 2 or 3 days in London instead of going direct/find tickets for the final, but it seems quite difficult in terms of logistics and price.
I've never managed to travel north of Liverpool during my time in England, and hence have never seen NUFC play. This final would be a wonderful way to rectify that.
