  1. why not he's a really good player. Watched him loads last year at Juve. Kept the defence together very well. Was s**** here cos he had a s**** manager, s**** coaches and s**** players around him. Think he would do well at liverpool.

    Playing in Serie B though.

    Italian fizzy pop league.

Boumsong was a fucking car crash.. fair play some players just don't adapt, but he just outright took the piss. If you don't quite remember check out YouTube.

  2. Well no, definately not.. probably not the best example but I think my point still stands. Looking at last season I'd blame Shephard before Roeder, because it was FF that appointed him, although it could easily be said that Roeder never said no..

Either way I don't think that Roeder deserves the abuse that he's gotten.

  3. If anyone is interested, Poll isn't actually answering from the lawbook, more his interpretation.

My law is a bit rusty (I have a referee qualifaction) but I'm sure the infringement would come from the player trying to pull the shirt, never mind just pulling it. The laws state similar things with yellow cards, like a player kicking or just merely attempting to kick another player.

  4. He was a good player for us and his heart is in the right place, he just lacked the ability to manage NUFC.

It wouldn't surprise me if most of the Roeder haters are people who never got a chance to see the performances he put in for us. Would the same people jump on Alan Shearers' back if he took over as manager and failed?

  5. What an ugly c*** that Faye is.

    Nice....

Don't quite get why you posted that gem in this thread like... :dontknow:

Me either, and i dont understand why it would matter how a football player looks, specially one who will be playing for Newcastle united this season..

Would'nt mind if Frankenstein was our left back, so long as he did a good job.

    You mean Frankensteins Monster.  ;)

  6. If this is about Keane's rant against the so-called WAGS of English football, then this is one thing that i DO agree with him about.

Its not just Sunderland who would have a problem getting certain players to sign for them - we also would have the same difficulty, despite Newcastle being one of the most lively & progressive cities in the UK .

People like Beckham's wife are a pain in the butt, and have far too much influence over the players - as Keane says, the players & wives that come into that category are weak and also thick - they probably still think the North East has stacks of coal-mines, chimneys with thick smoke, and all the fans wear cloth caps & have whippets/pigeons etc. etc.

This is a common phenomenum when the women are from London/S.east - most of them have never been north of Watford anyway, and foreign players , esp Southern Europeans, think that London is the centre of everything - even if the lifestyle is crap.

At least when Hamman & his wife were based in the North East, he did say that he really enjoyed all the lovely countryside around the area and they both used to drive into Northumberland etc at weekends or days off.

That is why it is SO important that NUFC has a really good Academy system, not just in the UK, but eventually overseas in order to dispel these myths and get in players who REALLY want to play for the club and not just pick up their oversized wages so their particular WAG can go shopping in London......

I believe that these WAGS were partly to blame for England's pathetic showing at last year's WC - too much concentration on pleasing the girls instead of total concentration on the games.

I have a whippet, ironically he's called Merlin.

    Good post though.

  7. Talking of form and points on whatnot, from what I've noticed from the last few seasons (with the odd exception aside) if you get on average 1 point per fixture, or 38 points total then you're skimming safety/relegation. Any below that and it's pretty much guaranteed.

However, if you average 2 points per game - 3 points per home game and 1 per away game for example - you'll pretty much win the premiership, or be in a title race at the very least.

I reckon that a top 6 finish is easily possible, but like several people have said.. it's all about consistency. I think with a bit more depth and less injuries (come on BS) we could be there.

  8. Good performance, really just glad with the win, know that Sam will build on the weak points.  I'm also really pleased that we didn't fold after that first Bolton goal, it really could have gotten hairy down the stretch but we stayed strong.

I was watching Soccer Saturday and when I saw the Bolton goal update my heart literally sank.. After all the times last season that we were doing well until the opposition scored a goal, causing our heads to drop, I was pretty worried like.

But it's a thing of the past! Big Sams revolution has started rolling!

Interesting thing in the interview how Sam brought up about changing formation several times to accomodate the change in pace of the game.

  9. I kinda feel for Dyer here.. I don't really want him here and the general consensus of fans don't want him here and Dyer is blatantly not wanting to hang around, so why prolong it? There are clearly funds about and there is no way that anyone would willingly pay £8,000,000 for a speedy sick note.

    Not even West Ham.

They wouldn't have to if he didn't want a payment. The original deal was £6m, why would Newcastle change that after agreeing to it initially?

It can only mean he's after a payment of some sort, probably in lieu of his testimonial. Little b******.

Good point, completely slipped my mind that it could have been a loyalty bonus job. Fuck him then.

  11. NUFC would never bring in an old player as a member of the coaching/managerial staff for sentimental/nostalgic reasons..

When is Shearer taking over as manager, anyway?

  12. the idea that a player can sign a 4 year contract and then every pre-season be allowed to have look round and weigh up his options before 'committing' himself to the club, is ridiculous

it's not up to the player to decide he wants to stay, it's up to the club to tell him he's needed. god you all crucified bellamy and dyer for their bigger than the club attitudes, total hypocrites tbh

You can hardly compare Michael Owens situation of weighing up his options to Dyers lacklustre effort each game with no more than quick runs in some new makeshift position he's found, or to Bellamy who is just a disaster waiting to happen.. a golf club to Riise FFS.

End of the day, at least if Michael stays with us until January you know he'll make an effort until then.. even if it's only for his own benefit it'll still see us up the top half of the table.

  13. There's alot of talk of a £23 mil figure being bandied about, although this hasn't being confirmed by any reliable sources as such. I think that as long as the club isn't left with nothing else to spend then the price of the transfer would be academic.

But then again, I rate Deco as a world class creative attacking mid and the only way to get world class players it seems is to get out the cheque book.

  14. How have we changed? we havent even kicked a ball yet......

    "Money changes everything"

£50m that was giving to Souness and i beg to differ

But that money did make a difference, the irresponsible way in which it was thrown about on needless and overpriced players who were more bothered about their next wage packet than for the club itself landed us in the mess that we're trying to crawl out of right now.

  15. We should ban members signing up in July until September.

Why? You're one of the worst posters on the board. An 11 year old school child in the summer would make better reading than half of the s*** you post, like "OMGZZZ I'm so drunk i'm so gonna tell everyone on the forumz bout it".

    Mega entertaining.

And you'd know of my previous post history because?

I'm now just wondering which previously banned member you are, Thompers?

    :)

Well i'd quickly get as many posts in before Dave comes along.

I MUST be a previously banned member, it can't be that I have just read the forum for a while

It's stuff like this that really pisses me off about you.

Everyone else has a little giggle at the comment, but not you, on your high horse as usual because you simply have no sense of humour.

    And you're a laugh a minute.
