So we play the Dutch? Tough game for us, that.
Could be the Czech Republic or Turkey depending on results tomorrow

Just call me gareth
Gordon may as well fuck it off and get himself away on holiday

The more stuff like this happens, the more clubs will get pissed off and the more chance these rules are completely thrown out, or challenged. It's a fucking shambles now.
Nah theyll just double down and keep changing the rules to block any loopholes

Lyon smashing their record signing by 15 million for Minteh
Not for me Clive

Do people honeslty believe the club manufacturers interest in other players to create a 'smokescreen' based purely off the whole Barella/Tonali situation? It's not how grown up business works, lads.
Nah but I'd imagine they'd be sniffing around plenty of targets at the same time
So when luke edwards posts his next exclusive saying someone is imminent it might be worth people not wetting their knickers about brexit eddie until they've actually signed. Sure we get the same every summer

£25m fuckin great25 million for a player who has had a half decent season in the Dutch league is tremendous money
If he was a feyenoord player and we were offering 25 million for him people would be saying it's a lot of money for someone unproven and they'd want him to be a squad player not thie elite right winger everyone keeps mentioning

I’d give up if we paid that for him
Aye it seemed mental to me as well but it seems a case of fiddling the books if minteh is going the other way for a similar amount

Those numbers all part of the game I’ll guess.
The FFP/PSR game?

Mark Douglas reporting in the Independent this morning this Everton want £37m - and that we value Minteh at £40m
I'd be amazed if we get anything over 15 million for him

If true then I’m disappointed. Hes a good player but a crock. Will cost a canny bit too.
Keep Howe away from transfers. Love him and thinks he’s done class here, but all the evidence points to him not being very imaginative in the market
Pope
Bruno
Botman
Isak
Tonali
Nowt to do with Howe then?

Don't think I like the thought of signing DCL
Mind I didn't think signing Gordon was a good idea either...

Was there not talk of him signing a new contract? Can see him mebbes having one more year there now

It's a bit simplistic seeing it this way, but I think Hall is more of the natural successor to Trippier in the team, albeit that implies mirroring over the structure of the team from right to left.
Have any teams done that yet where the third centre back comes from right back?
Thinking city and ake/akanji Liverpool Gomez. Arsenal Kiwior. Us with Burn
Always seems to be the left back

Agree, we would benifit a lot from having a new keeper with those attributes. We need to get away from defending deep a big portion of the time. That cost us a lot.
We never defended deep when Pope was in goal though.

A sweeper keeper predominantly comes out to smash the ball away before the attacker gets there
They haven't got time to get it on the deck and fanny on with it most of the time.
If you're talking about him playing out from the back then that's a total different thing to a sweeper keeper

Not enthusiastic about this deal at all. Probably a good keeper for the future but we need an instant improvement on Pope which am not sure he is.
Why do we need an instant improvement on Pope? Pope has been class for us. Be looking at 50 million plus for an upgrade on Pope. A young keeper who we can mould into a replacement for Pope is the sensible option when we can't be splashing the cash
Group C: Next - 1. England, 2. Denmark, 3. Slovenia (Q), 4. Serbia
