wasn't it him who held the group to ransom over the Gallowgate Flags name?

2-0 win. Wood and Joe (hedging).

Thats one thing I worried about with Howe when we appointed him, that our job would be too big for him to handle in terms of the culture of our job, the culture of being a big one city club where it’s 24-7 attention, and he’s pissed it really thus far in just how well he’s handled it. I’ll say the same of Southgate who has done the same and even more with arguably the most difficult job in world football. I believe it’s how they carry themselves, and they both do it well. Compare and contrast to the likes of Bruce and Big Sam, both made from the same cloth really.
I just meant tactically more than anything. Howe is on a different level to Southgate, imo.

howay wee man!
all started with that goal over in Saudi. a superb decision to go in hindsight, and executed* perfectly.

Wasting another great generation of England players on a manager who simply isn't good enough for me like but guess that doesn't seem to be the opinion of most.
I do kind of understand this viewpoint. we've got an unbelievable squad, and any half-decent manager could probably get a tune out of them. He got schooled in the final, but there's a lot more to being an England manager than what happens on the pitch, and he does everything else brilliantly. so he gets a bit of a pass, for me.
wouldn't want him anywhere near us, like. he'd get eaten alive in the Prem.

Wokeing up the steps of the old Gallowgate and standing in front of the scoreboard. Magic.

There was that Chronicle article about him back in November, which reported that he’d engaged his own personal fitness coach as well as a analytics specialist- all on top of the coaching that the club provides. Testament to how invested he was in sorting things out for himself and his hunger to get things right.
That led to that story about how his analytics guy was stumped as to how to get Big Joe to play optimally in Bruce’s system, because he could never figure out what Bruce’s system was!
don’t think I mentioned this at the time (because I didn’t give a shite, tbh). but I seen him running shuttles down the quayside by himself a few months after he first signed, just on a random midweek evening.
he’s clearly been working his nuts off to improve and it’s brilliant to see him reaping the rewards. think he’ll score against Brighton and the roof will come off!

You should have a look at their forum matching on together. Overwhelming majority wanted him out before & after their game yesterday
ah well in that case.
overwhelming majority of our fans think Schar is left footed, would be good as a DM, and Murphy should play RB.

We were gutted when Ole went... It doesn't tell you anything other than how popular he was with the fans.
impressive how you can always bring the conversation back to being about you.
loads of Man Utd fans wanted Ole out. same can’t be said for Bielsa.

can’t believe how much I like him now
he’s a totally different person under Howe.
-
Leeds fans are gutted, which should tell us everything we need to know.

Good news for us if they do.
in what way?

they should get Rafa.

aye reet, we’ll fucking beat yous as well.

the work he’s done in such a short space of time has been quite simply remarkable.
look at what he inherited ffs
an unfit shambles of a team with a horrific mentality, zero confidence, and no identity. he’s changed absolutely everything on and off the pitch and deserves a huge amount of credit.
PE teacher my arse. he’s a top manager.

Expansion = additional revenue and FFP compliance, definitely needed or existing seats become more expensive.
relative peanuts though when it comes to FFP. and there’ll always be other ways - rename the stands (not the whole stadium) for starters. I’m sure the Gallowgate was the Brown Ale stand at some point and nobody even noticed.
I’m not against expansion by any means, it’s just not a massive priority for me as a fan. work with what we’ve got and aim to make SJP best in class, regardless of how many seats there is.
-
over the moon with this news. relocating would be a disaster, in my opinion. and we’d lose a lot of what makes us special. so it’s great to hear they aren’t even considering it.
not overly fussed about expansion either to be honest. I haven’t got a season ticket, but was on a waiting list for my first as a kid, and it just made me want it even more. we don’t always need everything right now.
we didn’t even sell out in the CL last time around. I know things have changed, but complacency will soon creep back in if we see some success. besides, there’ll be plenty of cup games/friendlies for people to attend. implement a good points system and let people earn the right to buy a season ticket.

that's the type of miss that bites you on the arse. howay Spurs you useless fucks.
-
what's up with all the empty seats at both Burnley and Watford? I barely pay attention to other teams, are they always like that?

interesting video, but that'd be absolutely terrible. moving from our gorgeous city centre to Long fucking Benton
100k fans trying to squeeze into Casa Antonio's for a pint.

pretty sure True Faith had some involvement at the start when it was called Gallowgate Flags. then apparently there was a falling out because Alex wanted a surfer flag with his face on. so the group splintered and the non-Tories had to start again under the name Wor Flags.
