  1. Never been on board with Trent in midfield

He's not and never will be a midfielder to a decent standard

How does it work, though? Does part of the fee count towards FFP immidiately? And if so, it's just going to be around 1/5th of it, right?

With FFP/PSR selling players counts fully and immediately, amortisation is for purchases only

Hall, Miley and Gordon have all developed nicely without game time to be fair, even Anderson post-Britol Rovers loan.

I think for keepers it's slightly different

It's a lonely position and you don't have the luxury of giving minutes here and there like you can with outfield players

  4. Trafford is a talent but I'm not too sure the transfer on the face of it makes sense

He isn't good enough to be a starter at this moment in time, he was massively out of his depth and too raw last season

Coming here to sit behind Pope doesn't do a great deal for him, he needs to play week in week out and in a season or two he could be ready

I quite like the suggestion of us buying Trafford but loaning him back to Burnley and we then loan Muric for a season or two

It's for any transaction including player sales and purchases, I believe, not just sponsors.

Anyway, like millions of others, I'd certainly be looking for a pro league subscription to watch Casemiro hobble around the pitch, so that move would definitely make sense.

    Fair enough

Just goes to show how absurd the entire thing is

I also get why PIF will focus on the Saudi league but would like Yasir to get involved and stop clubs from bailing out Premier League clubs and their flop signings

  6. The fair market and having to prove it is fair market value is related more to sponsors isn't it?

When it comes to transfers surely proving a transfer fee wouldn't take a great deal of effort

Surely conference league football isn’t that much of a lure. It will be the money and not having to move home.

I doubt the competition itself is a draw but the extra games probably factors too

Although, they are quite stacked at CB so will be interesting to see if he gets regular games

  8. Just having a quick check and in Feb we named 23 players in the PL squad

3 of that list have been confirmed today as being released (Karius, Dummett and Ritchie)

Tonali will take a spot, Anderson and Livramento will be above the U21 criteria so they'll take a spot too, which puts us on 23. Which means we have space for 2 without any outgoings necessary

Though, if Joe White is being kept on then he would also need to be registered and that then leaves the 1 space. Kelly is seemingly the closest so that would be the 25

After that it will be a case of needing to sell/remove players

  9. Hopefully with a more available squad and less fixtures we can be extra careful with his recovery

A fully fit Willock is most definitely an asset, we just need to give him the time to get back to his best

We have Gordon, both Joe's, Anderson who prefers to play wide left for starters. We didn't need Barnes when we bought him, he's a luxury signing to back up Gordon that maybe in 5 years we will be in a position to do. I like Barnes, over a season he'll probably outscore Gordon, but where do you play Gordon in that case. He certainly doesn't like playing on the right.

    Joelinton will play in midfield

Joe Willock unfortunately keeps breaking down, don't know if he can even stay fit

Anderson hasn't shown he is ready yet

And most important of all it's about building your squad and having competition otherwise by asking where someone would play you can only justify having 11 players, which I'm sure you know is absurd.

We need to have 2 players for every position, so Gordon and Barnes are the two for LW, wanting Barnes sold is ludicrous

Two quality CBs and a RW is top priority this window. As for GK if a young upgrade for Dubravka is available then go for it. I also think selling barnes to raise funds would be best, and if necessary bruno.

If we sell Barnes we'd then need a LW too, doesn't make sense to do that

He'll go to whoever offers him the most money. He will have zero affinity to prefer us over Chelsea or Man U, no matter what "vision" he is sold by the club. Money talks.

Players don't always choose the highest offer.

He may well go to Chelsea and who knows what his reasons for that actually would be.

Just find it strange you've decided he's definitely going there when all he's done at this stage is listen to the offers available.

Player goes to the club offering the biggest wage shocker, that's never happened before.

Has he joined Chelsea? Must have missed that
