Id call Jonas & Obertan wingers every day of the week, bizarre topic to argue Back to the whole Ben Arfa actually getting in the side topic I dont see how people can look past Pardew stating that he doesnt believe Ben Arfa enjoys playing there, that opinion will have come from some form of discussion. Potentially a discussion that was involved in the lad signing for us, add in the lack of defensive work as others have stated and its not a clear situation atall. It likely is between him & best imo & that isnt an obvious choice by any means either.

Ive a hard time believing he'd not have started sooner over Obertan if there wasnt something in that really. Pardews said himself he doesnt think Hatem enjoys playing there & doesnt have the relish for it. He's not pulling those ideas out of nowhere, he'll have talked to the lad. Shoving him on the wing again after 1 start wont be great for relations.

5 penalties conceded in our last 6 games now, just a bit absurd. Should be 6 in 7 really given Taylor got away with one against wolves also. We're probably on for some kind of record, stopping that would be a decent start

It was clearly his best game back for us so far. Its no coincidence our best two chances came from him is it really, both should have been goals.

Its annoying but i suppose you could say thats the difference between the sides. As well as our players have been playing, some are still liable to make mistakes & we will lose like today because of it. Just the difference in standard, couldve been very different though.

He was pretty bad today, that doesnt mean id take him straight out of the side. Hes shown the positives of having him when Jonas is able to cover, he wasnt able to today.
