  1. How he's not near the England set up is beyond belief.

Don't get me wrong, i thought Simpson had a brilliant game on Saturday but surely you need to be putting in a good string of those kinda performances to put yourself on the international stage. I know Kyle Walker has been put in the squad and im baffled by that one aswell. It was only against Spurs that it was him and Williamson's shocking defending that cost us 3 points.

He's been a good cheap signing from Man Utd and is deffo worth more than the value we paid for him but to mention he's worth 10 times that amount is a bit extreme. All in all Simpson is a canny premier league right back who is establishing himself very well and if puts in those kind of performances against Arsenal on a regular basis then they would be no reason to why he shouldn't be called up for his chance to shine.

  2. Some people are far too up Hughton's arse on here

He done a good job, he took a group of players got them together as a unit and took them back to the premier league with a decent amount of points on the board, Pardew has just carried that on with some good results and some poor ones just like Hughton was doing when he was in charge.

  3. D

When results go against Pardew its not his fault its the strikers and/or the defenders who made defensive mistakes.  Its Souness all over again!

Do you honestly believe that it was due to Pardew's tactics we go beat last night. Not the fact our two central midfielders have absolutly no creativity in them in the slightest in which the game passes them by, which then leads on to the strikers having minimal decent service to them which then adds up to the striking pair living on scraps and failing to hold on to the ball when they've got it. Pardew can't exactly be faulted for the team he put out, it picked itself, the only debate would be Ranger or Lovenkrands in which either choice would have made no difference to the result, we were that bad.

That's our first poor performance in a few games though so still no need to panic or deem we are in a crisis.

  4. 'Whatcha think?' and you can imagine my reaction towards him and everything, I was just delighted for him.  He's gonna be a great addition to hopefully what's gonna be a great new start for Liverpool."

He can fuck off to Liverpool and start this new era with them as far as im concerned. Hope is doing the chicken dance in Liverpool and he gets bashed with a baseball bat just after Andy Carrol has been attacked brutally by the same scouse tramp!

    Awful captaincy! Fucking disgrace!

  5. My Liverpool supporting friend said Torres have been a Liverpool fan for a long time (since he was a kid?) and he even had "You'll never walk alone" on his captains armband at Athletico.

No idea if it's true though, he says a lot of things :p

He did have you'll never walk alone on his armband but i think that was only later in his time at Madrid when it was pretty much certain he was off to Liverpool.

  6. Petty comments by DL considering all Shearer said was the fans would be angry and dissapointed by the sale which we are but mainly towards AC depending on what side of the fence you are on. Too bring up Shearer's managerial stint for us is just needless.

He wasn't up to the job for us but neither were the match officials for Viduka's goal against fulham at home which robbed us the game. Shearer's media work is shambolic and its cringeworthy to how little he knows about football in general.

I do think he should go into management and if he wants to wait for a Premiership club to come calling so be it. Not all mangers have to go via lower league route.

  7. I watched him last night, and he did seem to have improved as a player. Despite running into a few blind alleys, he looked far more composed.

However, it did look like he was thriving in a free role where he was the star. A more disciplined role in a better side and a bigger club would be a different story - temperamentally as much as anything. And Ben Arfa looks a far more complete player.

If we're talking about £10m plus, I'd rather look elsewhere.

I thought Charlie was brilliant for a season or so for us but then you could tell for a long time he wasn't playing to his best and his improvement seem to have come to a halt.

However for Wigan obviously he's said things off the pitch like he did for us, wants a move to a bigger club blah blah blah but for Wigan he's actually still putting the performances in on the pitch. I only manged to catch first half of game last night and Charlie was running the show from Wigan's point of view, left side right side, through the middle, seemed all over. I wouldn't be paying 10 million to have him back but i certainly would take him back for half of that if the opportunity came about.

He's still an absolute cunt though  :snod:

  8. The most depressing thing about all this is that the same thing will happen if any of our players start attracting major attention from more ambitious clubs. Our lot won't budge, so they'll be sold.

Basically we're going to be simply going from transfer window to transfer window almost hoping our players don't do too well.

If the club weren't willing to compromise on our most valuable asset then the rest of them have no chance. This will result in a very high turnover of players, with the average ones happy to stay and the good ones sold.

We rewarded him a pay rise in October/November because of his good start to the season, if he wasn't happy with the terms he should have said there and then. What would happen if gave him his new contract then Liverpool came back in the summer again along with Arsenal and Man City? Would we then have to give him more wages to keep him? Barton has just signed a new contract or is on the verge of, so we get an offer for him in the summer from a club offering more money shall we give him more wages along with another contract? Enrique is on verge of signing a new contract, if Man Utd or whoever put a bid in do we then offer Jose more money to stay? Where would it end? If you sign a contract, stick with it until you have earned a new one furthur down the line!

  9. Can't believe people are actually saying we should have accepted his demands and gave him a new contract after he only recently signed a bigger one. If he wasn't happy with his pay he should have asked for more before he signed it. What if we gave him this new contract, he scored another 10 goals this season, Liverpool bid 40 mil in the summer would he come back and ask for an even bigger contract? It would be endless. Not only that how would the other players around him feel if AC kept getting offered these bumper contracts every transfer deadline? Tiote, Enrique, Colo, Barton, would they all form a queue and do exactly the same? We would just be a laughing stock because the players would end up being bigger than the club. The club were 110% spot on when they said we arent offering you that new deal a few months after you signed a 5 year contract. Earn your pay rise on the pitch not off it because clubs have bid for you and going to offer you more money. The only massive dissapointment for me is this as all happened at a time when we were in no sort of position to bring any sort of quality which we would have done if we just sold him July 1st. But there is life after Andy Carroll we are by no means a one man team!

  10.               Krul

    Simpson Taylor Colo Jose

    Barton Tiote Ireland Jonas

                Ben Arfa

                Carroll

Firstly Krul would be in goal for me based on the fact i think Harper isn't that much better than Krul and Krul has a lot of years ahead and needs to play in order to improve and become a top goalkeeper for us with the ability he already maintains. Taylor would be ahead of Williamson for me if injury free. I think Ireland would get in my team ahead of Nolan if he proved in training he is fit and raring to go and looking good. I would give Ben Arfa a free role and just let him do what he likes and roam around the pitch. Barton hasn't showed a great deal when being in CM for Newcastle as of yet but has showed quality on numerous occassions this season being on the right, a stand out performer over recent months.

    No.

    What do you disagree with?

    Krul in goal?

    Taylor over williamson?

    Barton on the right?

    Ireland over nolan?

Ben Arfa in a free role?

Carroll in the starting line up?  :shifty:

  11.               Krul

  12. Who cares, he abandoned us when we needed him the most.  Harper, on the other hand, could walk into most teams in England (and probably increase his salary) and has stuck with us through thick and thin.  It's about time that people give Harper the credit that he quite clearly deserves and stop banging on about Given as if he is the Prodigal Son.

'Most teams in England' being the ones outside of the Premier League im guessing  :shifty:

  13. As far as Routledge goes, whats his tackling like maybe he would be better suited as a Rb/LB maybe?

    Absolutly brilliant! :mackems:

  14. Puncheon and Ireland to nufc

    James corden

    :)

Puncheon has played for Southampton and Millwall (on loan) this season, so wouldn't be able to move again, would he?

He can move and he can play..

Puncheon was my favourite player in my MK Dons game on FM a few years back.. Have we been linked with him previously?

We've loaned out a winger who looks great in the Championship to get one who doesn't look great in the lower divisions? Am I missing something?

He's left-footed though. Imo, LW should be a priority for us, cause Jonas tends to get complacent when he knows he can't be dropped.. In FM Puncheon can play on both wings, in that sense, he'd be a decent cover option..

What's with the fm links? lol Cherno Samba was a hero and the best thing since sliced bread in 01/02 and where did he turn out? Panetolikos!!! He may have been useful for MK Dons on an fm save but doesn't mean we want him playing instead of Jonas! I'm not saying this player isn't of any quality but linking him with FM?

  15. Wenger would prefer Vela goes to a Prem League club though he prefers La Liga....

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6700269,00.html

Carlos Vela on loan would be a cracking coup but doubt it will be us in the hunt for him. Wilshere done well on loan at Bolton so wouldn't suprise me if Arsenal just sent him their in the the hands of Coyle who admires Vela. Won't be long before he's sold off to a Spanish club anyways because it doesn't seem like he's going to be breaking into Arsenal's team. How Bendtner gets picked before him is beyond me!

  16. Pablo Piatti to NUFC? YES PLEASE. I love that player.

Same would love to see him sign for Newcastle. Highly doubt we will sign him or have even attempted to sign him. He's going to cost at least 10 million. With Almeria struggling to stay up and fighting in the relegation battle wouldn't suprise me if he did move to a big club either in this transfer window or summer.

  17.                    Hart (though I'm still thoroughly unconvinced by him)

    Richards   Ferdinand   Terry   Cole

               Wilshere   Gerrard

    Walcott           Rooney         A Johnson

                         Carroll

That's the team i'd be picking aswell. Be looking out for CB to come in for JT though, Cahill/Lescott/Dawson are all no no's! 20 million for Gary Cahill, i'd snap their hands off if i was Bolton getting offered money like that for a bang average CB! If Glen Johnson got back to form and worked on his shocking defending i'd be tempted to move Richards inside and play him RB.

  18. The Sun's motm from Saturdays game..

STAR MAN - CARLO COLOCCINI (Newcastle)

Absolutly Brilliant! Never fails to make me smile The Sun! I think that might be almost as good as the 6/10 rating they give for Tiote against Wigan along with the quote 'The Ivorian never really got going' after he ran the show!
