Tbh it's extremely important that our players get international recognition if they deserve it, otherwise they might consider they need a move in order to achieve it. Depressing but I think it's true. I'm a bit relieved every time Bruno plays for Brazil, for instance.
Agree on Gordon needing the rest but it'll be better for us in the long run if he gets a call up. He'd probably only feature from the bench if at all.
He deserves it as well

I would just rest him now ready for the euros. He's earned it.

The one big thing I really disagree with Eddie on is that we played well. We were awful.

It is starting - tbf I do agree with some of what he says - especially around the body language of the payers

well would you look at that
I will believe it when I see it

Didn't he bring the Club to Amandas attention? I will alway be indebted to him for that

We are scoring goals but we aren't playing well - todays goals were down to individual brilliance.

No. My source on that is, well, as close to the horses mouth as you can get really. All his scans are absolutely fine.
i think it’s a mentality problem.
As well as being out for so long he has been jettisoned into a squad playing badly and lacking confidence. Our back 4 is getting zero protection - our midfield is none existent.

I defend this man a lot and will always have huge respect and appreciation. I’m very worried about the inability to find a more intelligent way of playing.
I am at a loss as to why we didn't sit back making our selves compact and hit them on the break. Chelsea haven't the quality to break us down. But instead we were wide open.

'Lots of good' isn't what I expected to be amongst the first things he says in this.
He does that a lot - there wasn't any good Mr Howe

We missed him when he wasn't playing last season - but like many others he's not the same player.
-
I would play the reserves - give what's left of the 1st Eleven a rest. It won't alter the result.

I do hope we really attack the summer window and try and get some early positive business done. Will help build momentum leading into the new season.
I worry we haven't the budget as we've been busy extending players contracts
-
It didn't look good - I would be gutted for him if it meant his missed getting called up for England.

Pish tonight and not for the first time. May need a spell on the bench.
Nah he needs to keep playing to find his form. We all know there's a player there - I just hope he's not carrying an injury.

Feels like a huge regression this season and we're almost back to where we finished up in 2022. The hard work, progress and momentum built up in 22/23 has largely unravelled since October and we're now a shadow of the side we were 12 months ago. Everything that side had, all the qualities and dna has just dissolved away and we're left with that heap of shit tonight. I know, i know, injuries have played their part but there's more too it than that. We don't even play the game like we did a year ago, we're nicer, more open, looser, less organised, sloppier and passive. We're predictable, a yard shot on pace and don't snap into tackles any longer. We went from the side everyone feared to the team everyone wants next on the fixture list and putting it all on injuries is weapons-grade horseshit. We've gone backwards in a major way and it's undeniable
We are very predictable and Eddie has to take the blame for that. Tactically we have not evolved. Injuries have impacted us though there is no denying that. We REALLY miss Joelinton, and the likes of Botman aren't at the levels they were last season.

Just absolutely frustrating as fuck. Probably the most frustrated I've been all season.
We can take solace from the fact it doesn't change a huge amount in the grand scheme of things; the skirmish for 7th will probably play out until the very end.
Just maddening that we've pissed away a really good opportunity due to a thoroughly limp fucking performance.
I am more concerned at our decline - you can't blame injuries for our performance today. There was just no cohesion, we seemed to lack any form of a game plan - they had a patched up back four and we barely tested them.

The rules are never going to change unless they are challenged. It feels these new rules are being brought in just to try and exonerate City. So I really wish we would challenge them in court as football is a business now, big business and the rules are unfair and anti-competitive.
