Howe has got what, 10 points from 10 games since arriving? With 17 games left, even a marginal post-transfer window improvement of say 20 points from that lot gets us to 35, which will probably be enough (just). We have a better squad that Burnley. Watford and Norwich. No excuses if we go down.

Not going to let perfect be the enemy of good (I think that's the saying). We've done well overall, we'll need Willock and Fraser to step up and take some of the burden off ASM.

Not putting a negative spin on this but we need to act decisively now. Could be left without Ekitike or Lingard and then we really are on thin ice relying on ASM, despite the good work already.

Not sold on Nketiah but he's a different option compared to Wilson and Wood. He's out of contract so I think it would be a decent low-risk addition. 

Lyon have history of doing this right before a major sale.

We are shopping in the wrong market for the position we're in to be honest, making this window unnecessarily difficult and protracted. Can't fault the ambition but we need upgrades on the likes of Lascelles, Clark, Shelvey and Ritchie which doesn't require £40m champions league level players. Still think we'll get 3 - 4 players in though.

Yeah, Lingard is a genuine upgrade in quality on what we have. Carlos, Lingard and a mobile CM and we have a chance.

We are down unfortunately

Its a logical signing that improves us and weakens Burnley, no doubt. Don't really care about the fee, it pays for itself if we stay up.

Think he would be ideal to cover for Wilson. Not a flashy signing but it doesn’t need to be we are in a scrap. He occupies defenders and should create space for ASM and Fraser etc.

Think he has to take pressure off them for the time being. If it all falls apart behind the scenes now we are knackered for the Watford game. It’s clearly not a happy camp.

Botman seems a no brainer even for a big fee. He's 21 and exactly what we need for the future. Really hoping this happens rather than half measures like Diop. Buy cheap buy twice.

Just get Howe in. Levels above anyone we've had recently and with financial backing and support from a sporting director he should be able to progress us while PIF re-build the clubs infrastructure. Its a risk but one worth taking imo. 

Or to put another way: if a few months ago we were offered a PIF takeover and Eddie Howe has manager, everyone would have taken it. Bigger picture.

Just can't envisage PIF signing off on Eddie Howe. Relegation on CV, no experience managing under big pressure at a very demanding club. Seems totally illogical to me, even if he is a talented coach, which I think he is. The whole thing is weird.
