This whole anchoring doesn’t make any sense to me as to why clubs have gone for it other than stopping City, Man Utd, Chelsea spending loads of money. It still allows them to spend much more than any other club. There must be more to it that we are missing. 
 

That Kieran Maguire was on Talk Sport today and said anchoring would allow clubs like Villa and Newcastle to go for it. Also if you over spend in Europe you just get a fine now don’t you? 

The current rules include all costs these are only player wages and transfer fees so is this not better for us? Ever so slightly anyway 

Longstaff has had 2 good seasons one under Benitez and then last season. 
He is a decent premier league midfielder but that is it decent. 
he never puts a foot in and falls over so easily when tackled. He runs round like a headless chicken not really achieving much. 
from a FFP prospective he is a ideal player to sell but I doubt that will happen as I’m not sure many clubs will want him.

I am honestly gob smacked at some of the takes on here. The weak chain currently in midfield is Longstaff. 
Honestly watch him in a game closely. He constantly looses out in 50/50 challenges as he doesn’t seem to want to put his foot in. If he gets even the slightest of touches he goes down rolling around as if he has been shot which generally means the opposition team then attack us as he has left massive space. 
For a 17 year old he already for me looks better in midfield than Longstaff. 
Does he need a rest yes but he should be in ahead of Longstaff all day long

Lewis Miley had to go for a scan on his knee after the O’Nien tackle but they were hoping it was just bruised. Still unsure if that rules him out for Saturday.
