I've had a lot of whatsapp messages saying why would the richest bloke in the world use Stavely to borrow money off Ashley to buy the club
It’s to do with clearing the debt to make things cleaner/ less ‘tax-ier’. The solicitor lasses tweet previous explains it well
“A little less taxier”
If they’re so rich they wouldn’t be travelling by taxi anyway.

I hope Steve is given a chance, wins all of his remaining games and we finish 7th. And then he finds out he’s been sacked via a text off Joelinton.

RTG are quite confident this will amount to nothing.
"FFP will prevent them from ever breaking into the top 10". No amount of investment will allow us to catch Sheff Utd or Wolves.
"Top players will never go to Newcastle anyway." Have they forgot about the time Mrs Ginola broke down into tears when she saw Arthur's Hill?

Actually, what is the slob on the left eating?
He's tucking in to a fried egg on toast with some beans.

Bring them all home
Cracks me up everytime that photo

Maybe a cup draw after we've gone full PSG and Stewart Donald is asking for volunteer Dads to run the line.
-
I really hope they sack him off before the ink has dried on the papers.

Wouldn't mind having "Our Graeme" off Blind Date as the new stadium announcer

“Steadied the ship” - the ship that was the 6th best in the league from when Almiron signed FFS!
Mark Lawrenson once said that Kenny Dalglish did a great job steadying the ship after Ruud Gullit's reign.
Digest that one.
Huh? Ruud’s reign at Chelsea?
Lawro's brain just couldn't process the fact that the uselss ginger tosser had done the worst managerial job in PL history, so it re-ordered reality into a version that still allowed the sun to shine out of Kenny's arse.
To make it even more astounding, Lawrenson was actually employed by NUFC during both the Keegan and Dalglish eras.

Not Pochettino. He's a miserable b****** and miserable b******s have always failed up here. Dalglish, Souness, Gullit.
All of our most successful managers have been absolute charmers.

What do people on here actually want for Sunderland?
As I get older my feelings towards them are more and more Sir Bobbyish and I'd honestly like to see them pull themselves together a bit- working class town, love their football and all that.
I hope they tumble down the leagues and eventually go out of business. Just thought I'd add a bit balance here.
They'll have to start supporting us if that happens. And you'll hear loads of whese keys are these when your at the match.

Does the fit and proper person test actually exist? Has anyone ever failed?
Are you gonna buy loads of players and then loan them all out?
Nahhhhh

The players prefer Steve Bruce. Rafa makes them do boring postional stuff.

Bale's game was his pace and now he's in his 30s. It makes no economic or strategic sense. I'd like to think we're going to plan things better than that.

Are the boobs shopped?

The people who run the western world - governments, bankers, CEOs, multi-nationals - are just as unscrupulous in their pursuit of capital. They mightn't disappear people in the night with the same regularity that the Arabs or the Chinese do, but they'll carpet bomb farmers in Iraq, disfigure national demographics, shit on the environment, pursue technology with zero regard for the consequences and tap into your private life without a second thought.
It's just a bunch of greedy psychopaths competing for power and our media will have you believe that Russia, the Saudis and the Chinese are the real baddies; not us. And definitely not a certain other state in the middle east.
With more specific regard to the takeover, I'm more opposed to it because it's a terrible thing that the filthy rich are able to extend their tentacles all over the globe, eating up businesses, institutions and ways of life that used to be in the hands of ordinary people.
Nowt we can do. Enjoy the football; oppose the politics.

I love Rafa but his transfer record is very patchy. At Liverpool he signed about 70 players in 5 seasons and most of them weren't Torres or Alonso.
Given unlimited spending power, I reckon he'd sign a fair few knackers as well.
Which manager hasn't made bad signings? Sir Alex Ferguson signed loads of dross
I've always thought Keegan's transfer record to be outstanding, at least at Newcastle.
Who were his worst signings? Mathie? Hottiger? Hooper?

Didn't he also win them 4 trophies?
He did and I'd welcome him back with arms open. I just think he might spend the occasional 130 million on Robbie Keane and Andrea Dossena. Might make it more fun actually.

It’s this bloke I’m most happy for

Probably missed the discussion on this already. But what are people’s thoughts on being owned by a bunch of reprehensible scumbags, who make Mike Ashley seem fairly decent in comparison?
I’m caught in two minds. Obviously happy that it looks like the fat t*** is finally on his way out and I can enjoy football again. But been fairly critical of the Saudi regime in the past and have read plenty of horror stories about them.
Western governments bomb shepherds in the middle east for fun and introduce policies like ‘herd immunity’.
Just use a bit of the old whataboutary and you should be able to convince yourself that this is ok.

I definitely fancy Staveley
I used to think Mike was quite dashing in 2008

I'm baffled by how many people on twatter want us to spend tens of millions on players who are in their 30s. Get Vardy, Sign Bale, Oooh I'd love to us sign Zlatan!
