  1. I really think the fact that it’s a Euro championship and Copa America year that this will have more of an impact on the rest and recuperation going into the new season

But do we really have a huge amount of players competing anyways….

If this Aussie trip ends up helping us get the income needed to stop the sale of a major asset then I’m all for it.

  2. I just stuck some money on us to win the title and I’m going with that. Man City will be docked points next season for sure, Liverpool are in transition, Chelsea changing managers again puts them a step back and Man Utd are just shite.

We’ve got players to come back in and no European distraction. As long as we get a better set of fixtures at the start of next season, then I think we’ll come out flying

    Happy with those 25/1 odds

    I fucking hate football.

man United are shite.  Yet have two trophies in a couple years and we have nothing in my lifetime.

Yeah and the approach to both those finals was spot on. Everyone behind the ball and playing on the break

  4. I just find this whole rule absolutely ridiculous. The prize for winning the cup is winning the actual fucking cup! In what world is it fair to even Chelsea who finished two places above Man Utd and then ending up in the third tier of European competition

  5. No doubting his quality, but I really don’t see where MGW plays in our set up. He can’t come into a midfield three as his best work is in forward areas and is far less defensively minded than everyone else. We’re already so open in that midfield as it is.

Maybe he works on the right side, but I’d be looking for someone with more flair, pace and trickery

DCL is entering the last year of his current deal.

His agent may just be using us to get his name out there to help secure a new contract.

Or perhaps Everton are going to be making him available for a price that is very good value, which we might deem to be worth it.

There's been reports that Everton are keen on Adebayo from Luton as a replacement.

I’d actually take that lad from Luton, he’s such a handful and gives us a different dimension. Looked good every time I’ve seen him and a solid backup

I'd sell Trippier at the first opportunity.

He's not the player he was. Even during his best spell this season, he couldn't get into the right spaces while defending and he's not going to get better.

Krafth is more reliable in defence and that's a damning indictment.

Will always be seen as a great player.

I’ve always said that his defensive positions are not great, he’s cost us so many goals with just being slow to move up the line. You can forgive this when he’s so good going forward and a massive part of our good attacking play, but I’d rather see Livramento in the side now

Time will tell, but I honestly think he will give it one more season and see where we are after that. Without the crazy injuries we had we would be UCL no doubt. He knows that. Mad bastard wears his heart on his sleeve. It’s a love affair for him and a reciprocated one with the fans. It’s not just about football (his whole family too) I’m not deluded but I’d be stunned if he wasn’t here for the next season at least. When hopefully we can really kick on. Give him the armband next season, another little tug on his mad bastard heart strings ??

Yeah he really should be vice captain now at least. He plays every game and is everything you want from a captain out on the pitch

My problem with challenges is that if the intent of VAR is to reduce mistakes, then why not try to get every decision right? What if the Gordon pen happens after you've used your challenge?

Then it gets missed just like yesterday. I don’t think we’ll ever get past that sadly unless a consensus decision system is used instead, even without a challenge system. The issue that we’ve got is that the threshold for a mistake is still subjective so we need to try and get to a place where majority rules - like yesterday would’ve 9 out of 10 people saying penalty, so let’s go with that.

  10. Hopefully the new offside technology coming in will make decisions quicker and reduce the issues with the tight calls.

I still maintain that the only way forward for VAR for everything else is to move it to a challenge system like cricket. Each team gets a review of a decision / non decision and then a panel of officials then vote on the call and majority rules. Football decisions are subjective and this is the only way to try and counter that. Take yesterday’s penalty claim, we ask for a review and then 5 people on the panel say yes or no penalty.

Would be gutted if this happens, like.

Burn has been great LCB after starting to look vulnerable at LB. I'd be happy with us playing any two of those three at CB for a while, but please no more LB.

Just thinking that this is the way Howe will want to go, not that I agree with it. For me, one of Hall and Livramento has to start next season

He’s a right sided centre back? Does that mean Schär moves over, or are we gonna have the tallest CB pairing of all time with him and Burn?

Given the injuries, I see Kelly as more of a backup if we are in for him. I’m surprised we’re in for him at all to be honest given the problems we’ve had. No doubt he’s a good player but boots on the ground n all that.

Agree Tosin would likely be an immediate starter, well once Howe bloods him in.

If Botman comes back like the player we knew before, then there’s going to be some selection problems.

Are ACL’s as bad as they once were?

That’s how I see it. While Botman is out, Eddie will move Schar to the left and Tosin takes his position on the right. I think we’re looking at Burn starting on the left for the first game with Hall and Kelly on the bench

  13. So many things can still happen and I’m glad we’re still in the mix going into the final week of the season.

A lot rests on Arsenal getting a result tomorrow I feel. It would mean we’re still in a good position and could even afford to lose on Wednesday and Europe is still in our hands. And say both Chelsea and us lose, then again still in our hands for Europa
