  1. That would make sense then. Chelsea’s spending spree over the last 12 months confused my thinking
  2. With the 3 year PSR cycle starting again, couldn’t we theoretically just spend £500m this summer and then take it easy on spending for the next two seasons? If we don’t break even then our defence when charged is that we thought we would sign higher commercial contracts and sell certain players - the Everton and Forest argument.
  3. I really think we can finish 5th and it will be above Villa. I mean I’m banking on Villa losing today and only picking up at most 4 points from their next 3 homes games. Let’s aim for five wins and a draw and get to 66 points and see where that takes us
  4. I knew he had talent, but I never thought he’d be a truly elite player - I’ll be happy to eat my hat
  5. This seems logical to me. I’m fuming if I’m a Leicester fan and having gone down to see one of those points deduction coming into play this season

    Harvey Barnes

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is that he actually gets his head up when he runs and that trait seems to be a rare skill in modern football. For me, it’s one of the main reasons why he’s so effective - he can control the ball and run at pace while looking for a team mate - priceless
  7. This sort of stuff is what I’m actually most uncomfortable with. To me this is cheating and actually shouldn’t be allowed. What needs to change is the inability for owners to invest capital to drive progression
  8. He wouldn’t go to Bayern as they can’t afford him. It’ll be PSG, Man City or Real Madrid. Not sure he wants to go back to France, but it’s Paris and he seems to spend time there with his days off. Real are stacked with young central midfielders and you’d think they don’t have the money to get him considering what they’re already spending this summer. I can only see him at Man City as we have a good relationship with the owners and they will pay the money. I just don’t want him going anywhere and I’m gutted we’re so hamstrung financially that it’s even being contemplated. Just take the points deduction!
  9. Getting that win over the line yesterday would have had me full of confidence, but we can’t seem to string two wins together (haven’t done it since end of November).
  10. If think we’ll win this and then the week hasn’t actually been too bad in the end
  11. I’m really confused by what we wall seemed to have watched yesterday. I thought we played really well for a lot of the game (and the stats show that clearly). We deserved the win and the only real threat was the transition, but let’s be honest if the team is not on it, then a player like Kudus is so hard to stop and will cause big problems. Point taken that we keep conceding the same type of goal and Eddie needs to think about that, but that’s the way we play, squeeze the space and have a keeper that sweeps. We’ve just dropped our intensity for obvious reasons and it’s led to the opposition having more time on the ball to hurt us. Eddie gets next season for me without a shadow of a doubt and then I’ll go for him if the same problems aren’t being addressed in a new season
  12. A chance for the referee to have the opportunity to fix the second goal massive error
  13. We need to find someone to help us lift the curse hanging over this club
  14. I’m with you and I’m still raging about it. But we all knew Joe Cole would say it’s our fault for going to sleep
  15. We can’t play the way we want to play with a goalkeeper of his style, it just doesn’t work. He’s glued to his line and it constantly costs us
  16. It’s a monumentally poor decision by the referee. The pundits will obviously talk about us switching off, but fuck me
  17. I’m baffled by that decision. It’s up there with one of the worst I’ve seen in my history of watching football
  18. There certainly some talent there, but not for the £70m that they would want to sell him. Same goes for Jarrod Branthwaite, would love him here, but we can’t be chucking £60m about for everyone
  19. Can’t agree with that at all. They’re both clearly top quality players and by far and away the most talented in the team. Two players can’t carry a side alone and you need different skills to complement them and get the best out of their talent. I’m pretty sure Haaland wouldn’t get anywhere near the amount of goals he does if he played for us and De Byrune just wouldn’t look as good.
  20. That clearly bargain to be had across the back line. I mean look at the left back Porto (Wendell), he cost them £4m and is an international player. I’d still be tempted to sign him even though he’s 31 in July as it means we have Lewis Hall ready once he gives us a few good years. It’s also another reason why you just can’t rule out players like Kelly and Tosin as free transfers, it’s rare you get good quality players from our league for such a small outlay
  21. He would slot in perfect next to Rodri you’ve have to say. But he ain’t going anywhere guys! He just signed a new contract and loves it here. Besides nobody will pay the £85m-£100m we would want to sell him. He gives us next season and if we haven’t improved then he would look to find somewhere where trophies are more easy to come by
  22. They will get punished, but I guess it’s just how severe. I’d guess that they would snap your hand off for a big fine, a few points and maybe a transfer ban. If you take the rules at face value, they cheated knowingly (also committed some sort of financial fraud) and won titles. Do you strip them of the titles they won in that period? I really don’t know where this one goes and you can’t see Man City taking it lying down
  23. True - different times and all. I was sad when he left, but I understood it. There was no compelling reason for him to stay with us, we were a club going nowhere at that time. I’d take him back in an instant as I always believed in his ability, but I think we need to look at players with greater recovery power
  24. Yes and that’s the only way to have sustained success, you have to buy your way to it. I get the contradiction. But I’m just after realistic spending that we could afford to service and not the type that means we’re blowing everyone out of the water. We need a left back, I want us to buy Alphonso Davies, but I know that’s only going to happen if we overpay and I wouldn’t want that
