  1. So off the top of my head... Craig Bellamy.

Scored 7 goals with Coventry who finished 19th.

We signed him and he transformed our team and way of playing.

Sometimes the right player and the wrong club fails and then comes back to life at his next club

Spurs stadium is the nuts mind. If you’ve been you’ll know it’s far, far more than just a bigger version of Stoke or Wigan.

Whether that’s particularly relevant or not to who James Maddison signs for, I’d have my doubts.

Last time I checked he would spend most of his time on the big green flat part of the stadium?

Im hoping it's the atmosphere generated from the stands that would make the difference and despite what some people say...ours is better

That England team was so bad. Zero chemistry whatsoever. Compare it to that Spain team. My word.

In hindsight... I think I would struggle to find a team with more players I hated in one team.

Even Barry wound  me up more then he should have...  still have nightmares of him being outpaced in the Germany game

The issues are 1. You're relying on Miggy/ASM/whoever to be willing to go to KSA and 2. As soon as a deal between a Saudi club and NUFC is done its going to be scrutinised like no transfer in history. Any slight hint of "working the system", a memo, an email, an overheard conversation, the authorities are going to come down like a ton of bricks.

That's why this deal opens up the opportunity. Every other deal was an end of contract or a deal that made sense due to the player / high wages.

This is the first one I'm aware of that breaks this model and includes a ridiculous transfer fee.

And I'm sure a lot of players will have their heads turned when they see the wages on offer.

If true... Really think this a game changer for us and the league.

It is way over budget and once complete there will be nothing anyone can say if Maxi or Miggy went for an inflated 80 to 100 million bid.

Or even lesser players for 10 20 million... Honestly feel they have found the cheat code

  6. I thought we were bidding 70 mil on a keeper now... can Froggy not keep his made up links off our made up link page!

  7. Edwards... Likes to break news early irrespective of what implications it might have on the outcome

Hope... Likes to put a negative spin on anything positive and double down on anything negative.

Romano... Like to twist every story to sound like he has a hot line to every boardroom or agent

Ryder... Is too busy pulling together an article on the list of 5 things we don't know..  because none of us can be arsed to read the same story he has posted with five different headlines.

Anyway... Even if the rumours are half true, I'm excited to know there are still hundreds of players in-between the levels of Barella and McTominay

  8. The guys name already fits Lola by the Kink's...

Eddie met him in a club down the San Siro,
Where you drink champagne and the fans all loved Nic-cola.
    Nic-cola Barella

Obvs need to be drunk to get the rest of the lyrics right lol

So if Man United and Liverpool didn't underachieve, we would've needed 80 points for top 4? That has never happened before. The highest in latest years is 75p being Liverpool at 4th, 71p would be enough for most seasons. I don't get this "if every team would've performed" thing.. That never happens.

No the question was about Arsenals sudden rise..

I just personally feel that as well as they played they also got the added benefit of other teams under performing.. much like the year Leicester won the league with 81 points.

or put it another way similar to Spurs in the Leicester season..I don't think they will get  a better chance of winning it.

By spending a fortune the last 3 years.

Because Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U all under achieved last year?

I mean we benefitted as well but Arsenal might not have been the story if Liverpool got their normal 90+ points second place

Wish he had shared it at the time and we could have called them out as individuals!

I still remember to this day an elder relative calling Andy Cole and it hitting home how it always hides just under the surface.

Obviously they can hide behind a keyboard nowadays but I'm sure if it's a Newcastle 'fan' it wouldn't take so long to find out someone who knows who it was

  12. if true you have to admire the club for proactively finding a player to take the heat off Gordon ?

McTominay was way to obvious a choice so so they had to find someone that would split the fans between religious beliefs,  human rights and freedom of speech (oh and those who don't give a toss and just want everything to be black and white)

At the very worst, I just think they keep you around 6th place but with potential to be even better. Szoboszlai, might be so good that he keeps us 4th or above, but if it flops then the likes of Villa and Brighton might close the gap.

I think people forget that other teams are in Europe as well.. Brighton and villa will probably have more games to fit in as well.

You can argue it's an easier game but its injuries, Thursday games and fatigue that all starts to add up
