Popey and Trafford going forward would be a great 2 to have. Hope that’s how it turns out.

I still think Popes injury was not right when he come back. Seemed reluctant to dive in that shoulder so maybe he knows he would fail a medical if if he was looking to leave.

Either way time waits for no man.. be it Pope in goal or Wilson at CF.

Players have to be prepared for a sudden replacement if we are to achieve our top 4 hopes year in year out

Staveley and Ashworth at least got business done and had influence over PIF. Too much I guess.

Apart from two Champions League campaigns, one Carabo Cup and never being in a relegation battle for three years... What did that overspending ever get us!!

I do get your point to a degree but history will show success over us having to sell Anderson etc

  3. If the ground was built on leazers you can imagine there would soon be bars, restaurants, bookies, entertainment pop up over the years stretching the center of town out that way.

Even if it was somewhere further you would still need somewhere for fans to gather before or after the games.

Plus a new ground need to make sure it has more income being generated outside of match days.

  4. Maybe Howe is trying to adapt his system or at least have an alternative.

I think we got to a point last season where teams would sit back in our home games and let us pass the ball sideways until they were able to intercept and break on us.

Is grealish or sane the ones who can offer something else?

Speaking of signing another CM or two. I’ve not checked but it feels like Joelinton has missed about 30% of the last couple of years Premier League games. I’m not sure how reliable he’ll be fitness wise going forward either.

If we don’t sign a keeper I’d like to see us getting rid of Willock and Longstaff and sign a real quality CM as well as a younger cheaper one like Matheus Fernandes. This would give us genuine quality and good depth in midfield.

I know it’s unlikely that all this happens but yeah, ideally what I’d like to see personally.

To be fair the key injury was when he was subjected to a bad tackle in the Derby game.

If the others are recurring because of that than I take your point.

  6. Could it be coincidence that it was the same weekend the Chairman was at the match.

You can imagine there must have been some sort of meeting held about transfers and plans.

Did everyone not see eye to eye or was his list of targets not aligned to either the  financial or managers plans.

Frustrating but at least Amanda kept everyone updated... The silence over the past year has been deafening

  7. Now let's hope they struggle to sell their existing players on big wages.

Any sensible club would now wait until they become desperate to sell the likes of rashford

  8. I think he looked worse once we realized Barnes could play in that position.

Ironically Barnes has looked worse since Gordon come back in the team.

And both looked shite once our only winger who crosses the ball went into rb

  9. Weird how Howe is loyal to the point of frustration but in an instant you are gone from his thoughts... Burn (lb), Miggy, Longstaff and to a point Wilson once Isak got up to speed.

    Arguably our best ever CB.

Thought he was going to kill Murphy at one point, even before Murphy got him yellow carded

    Steve Bruce disagrees with you!

Honestly to think he was nearly out of the door!

Only player who turned up today. Which I feel is quite common whenever we have a shit game. Dude always puts a shift in and has had a good season.

Yeah would be annoying if he doesn't get any time off this summer.

Surely you can't be saying Sandro didn't turn up today?

  12. I think the team have been drilled all season to play 433 that they struggled to get their heads around the various formations today.

Even more so when everton just sat back and let us play it from one side of the pitch to the other

I like Gullit but the level of lies about his Newcastle time is criminal.

    1. Said shearer was getting old when he had him (shearer was 29)

    2. Said he wanted Shearer to do different things but couldn't specifically say what

    3. Said it was a miracle we got to a cup final, despite being there the year before and being recent title challengers before that

    4. Claimed he never managed Duncan Ferguson

    5. Never mentioned the actual important part in that we couldn't win games of football

    6. Lastly, he claims he was right because we were relegated shortly after.

    7. He also said that SBR wanted to sell Shearer. Which is also false.

Shame the old man only went on to bag another 120 goals after gullit left.

Yes his mobility had went after his injuries but Robson worked on that straight away by buying Bellamy to do his running.
