  1. You wouldn’t expect many clubs to have much room for manoeuvre before 30 June. Man City is probably the only one, unless there’s some rapid player trading elsewhere.

  2. I’m increasingly of the opinion that neither Bruno or Isak are going anywhere in the summer.

Their contracts are long enough there’s little risk to their value. I reckon the club will want to give it one last heave and see what we can achieve in a season without a freak injury list before we do any trading.

The 'Ministry Site' where HMRC currently have their "Newcastle Regional Centre" at BPV (Benton Park View) is not in Longbenton - though it is very often "called" Longbenton.

BPV is in the High Heaton area of Newcastle, whereas Longbenton is a housing estate in nearby North Tyneside.

Fucking hell, I am sorry. Shall I go into exile?

  4. Celebrating that goal with a stranger next to me was the closest I ever came to having a homosexual experience. Never cuddled another man like it.

I think about him all the time.

  5. Last thing I was told was that they want the ministry site in Longbenton for the new development and the existing training ground will be properly redeveloped too further down the line. The suggestion was they wanted to do a more sprawling, less insulated version of the Etihad Campus but working in partnership with the colleges and teams that have stuff around that area.

Not sure what that would mean in practice. Possibly the club purchasing the land, maintaining it, allowing local teams to use it whenever the club don’t need it?

No idea the veracity of this info like, even if I trust the person who told me and they could conceivably know. Do with it what you like.

Personally think the performative hatred and deliberate misrepresentation of how people use it is the nonce shit tbh.

It's just another stat that doesn't need to be taken that seriously.

    You are wrong. Nonce shit.

A penalty Xg is .8-.85. Their overall Xg was roughly 4.5-4.8.

They had plenty of big chances. Sofascore says the had 8 non-penalty big chances, we had 2.  Sofascore defines a Big chance - a clear-cut scoring opportunity, like a one-on-one situation or a shot from just a few yards out.

Tbf Arsenal we were bad for 90 minutes. The PSG game was more similar to the Chelsea game.

I'm a fairly avid FPL player And I find Expected stats very useful. It nearly always reflects something true to real life, especially over several games. Eg Darwin Nunez has excellent movement and gets on the end of lots of quality chances but he’s a poor finisher. He’ll routinely underperform his Xg. Son on the other hand routinely over-performs his Xg but he sometimes goes through phases where his Xg is prohibitively low, despite the strong finishing. He doesn’t do so well against low-block defences where his Xg dramatically drops.

xG is nonce shit. Pack it in.

The black guy's over-acting makes him unwatchable.

Laughed at the fat welsh guy blaming the referee for booking Van de Ven. As if Spurs, and Maddison in particular, didn't get away with murder

Hippie guy for the first two goals: “it’s fine. No worries.”

Hippie guy for the third goal: *string of unpublishable expletives*

  9. Watching a game at the GIS is an absolutely appalling experience. They desperately need a new one, but I imagine they’ve got a decent deal from the council so they’d need a very good reason to move.

  10. It’s been more or less confirmed that months long leaking of stories about Man United wanting him came from the Man United side. It’s a large part of the reason we’re pissed off.

The Berrada deal may have been kept under wraps - probably because of the unique circumstances around Man United poaching someone from their more recently successful local rivals - but the Ashworth and Wilcox situations are almost identical.

I think it speaks of a bit of entitlement and arrogance on the part of Ratcliffe. It very much ties in with him shiteing on about public funding for a new stadium.

  11. I have nothing but awful memories of his time at the club but he was very much a symptom rather than a cause of it. It is weird to look back at his results as manager as see he had us on a six match unbeaten run at one point.

He period of DoF was just sad. He was clearly not a well bloke. His summer interrailing around Europe while Pardew desperately tried to convince him to buy Darren Bent via media leaks was a particular nadir of the Ashley era.

    RIP.

I left my windows open overnight after getting my flat plastered in 2009.. someone came in, left a brand new telly and Xbox and cut all the copper pipes from the walls without turning the water off. Never known anything like it.

I know it’s early, but it took me a good 30 seconds to realise you meant they ignored the tele and Xbox, and not they exchanged them for the piping like some bastardised version of Swapshop.

No chance he's going anywhere like. He'll be on a good wage here and there's no chance any team matches it for a 32 year old striker who misses more games than he's fit for.

Even less of a chance anyone pays a fee for him. So you may as well keep him for the final year of his contract.

Wilson won’t sit around as third choice, which is what he’ll end up as if the summer goes to plan.

Our back line is a bit concerning, I hope Hall puts in a good performance because I feel that he tends to lack positionally and over commits at times and there’s just not enough pace across the 4 to dig us out a hole if a mistake is made.

In fairness that’s three quarters of the back four hauled us out of trouble season before last.
