  1. I don't know about you guys but I'm not quite convinced by overspending to only get Lingard, Ake and Tarkowski. I feel that shopping abroad would open up a lot more exciting opportunities. I'm fine with striking a couple good loan deals from EPL clubs in January, but when it comes to investing in the squad for the long run, NUFC should be looking to sign talent from La liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 instead. Hopefully, with someone like Michael Emenalo as DoF.
  2. I just watched his interview and press conference (a bit late), I gotta say I'm really impressed. He seems like an intelligent, well-spoken and energetic leader who can motivate the current squad and improve their game. If he can squeeze some important points before the January transfer window, then I have no doubt it will be an easy job to avoid relegation come the end of the season. The squad absolutely needs enforcements in January though, and judging from Staveley's interview, it seems they will go for a DoF asap to start planning for that transfer window.
  3. I've never said it's in any way, shape or form acceptable or that his murder wasn't a heinous crime. Getting informed on Middle East politics though will make you understand how this awful crime was used for political gains against people who weren't actually involved.
  4. Agreed we should all stick to football. Otherwise, just go and do your research before commenting on such topics. It's a free forum and I came here to talk football, but it pains me to see people blindly go along with the Turkish and Qatari narrative and then call anyone who has a different insight a "bot".
  5. Now that's someone who actually spent some time researching. If I may add, Hatice Cengiz who claim to be Jamal's fiancee has only ONE photo with Jamal in a public park. I guess a random Newcastle fan could take one photo with Amanda Stavely and then claim to be her fiancee. It's enough evidence.
  6. Oh bot... of course lol That's the way to run away from a topic you absolutely know nothing about. I advise you to go educate yourself on Middle East politics the gulf region before commenting.
  7. Fair enough. I guess this weirdly-looking Turkish woman who definitely doesn't want spotlight deserves to know who killed her "friend"... Oh wait, the perpetrators are already in jail serving life sentences and Jamal's actual family has welcomed the verdict.
  8. As far as I know, Hatice Cengiz is not Jamal's wife. She claim that she's his fiancee and there are no official documents proving that. Either way, fact is, she's a Turkish supporter/lobbyist for Erdogan and the justice and development party. Erdogan has clearly capitalized on her friendship with Jamal after his death to target MBS. What was/is still reported in the media is one side of the story published by Qatar's Al Jazeera network and its many subsidiaries in Europe and the US (including Middle East Eye based in London). Reading these stories, you have to factor the enmity between Qatar and Saudi, Erdogan and MBS. I'm not condoning what happened to Jamal, but Hatice Cengiz should not be involved way more than his actual family.
  9. Trying to sign players with expiring contracts in January could be a good strategy. Their clubs are desperate for cash and would like to cash in January rather than losing their assets for free. For midfielders, plenty of options. I quite like Kamara and Tchouameni (both on expiring contracts). It would be easier to focus on Kamara since Tchouameni is heavily linked with Juventus, Chelsea, ManU and the likes. There is also Zakaria from Monchengladbach. As for the striker position, Andrea Belotti has an expiring contract and his aggressive and physical style of play suits the EPL.
  10. Bot farms usually have distinctive account handles. Usually long with lots of letters and numbers that do not make sense. Sadly, these are real people and most of them are probably uneducated under 20s as Twitter is very popular among the youth in Saudi Arabia. The recency of the Saudi takeover deal made a lot of young people in Saudi get involved in Newcastle United news these days, but from past experiences, we will probably not see a lot of these online attacks in future.
