I have said it previously, rafa had nothing to do with their failings, they have done it to themselves from last 5-6 years , i mean who buys players like iwobi, keane, Gomes for 25-35 m. I have watched some of their matches strangely even after spending 500 m they have a very thin squad of below average players. 2 of their best players were rafa buying , and only class player i found was richarlison , but he missed almost whole season alongside DCL, and their only decent defender mina was out injured as well. I think rafa had both hands tied behind his back with that kind of useless squad, but he might not have imagined their only 3 decent players will be out for whole season. I would say, he was at a very wrong place and at a very wrong time, and with that kind of shit fans you don't have much time.

It's mostly since he had a go at ferguson who was and still is darling of British press . This was 2008-09 when he almost won the pl with Liverpool i think .

You will see Mourinho coming back on top once again and so will Benitez, they are smart managers, they just need time, both of them have a certain philosophy which takes a certain time to show results, give any one of them 3-4 seasons and you shall see them overarchiving even with limited means. And yes both of them thrives on fans support, which unfortunately Benitez utterly lacked at his last job. I have seen majority of everton fans saying at his appointment that they won't back him even if he has them back in the champions league position.

Everton squad is one of the worst of all, they just blew their money on craps like iwobi, Keane. They have 3-4 good players and i heard they were out injured for most of the season , richarlison, celvert Lewin, mina etc. Add that with the toxic fans, it was always a very difficult job, impossible to say the least

To be honest everton side he managed had its best players out almost whole season, their main strikers were absent, their main central defender was out, rest of their squad is really poor. They didn't even give him any money to spend. And the fans were toxic from the beginning, they would just question every decision of his. Worst fans i have ever seen. But rafa has this on himself, he should have judged the fans reaction, players just doesn't care when manager is extremely unpopular and that's what probably happened there. I read somewhere when their whole squad was available they won 5 out 6 games. So probably down to injuries and fans ?
