Getting out of Ashley era and into current transfers we should be looking for £15m, it seems Man U are not short on cash given that they've just spent 60m odd on a 30 year old who will cost them over 150m eventually

15m is just unreasonable. I do not want us to act the way Manchester did last January, we should be better than that.

Why? At present we could realistically be finishing ahead of them for a few seasons. They've become the basket case club we were after Keegans first departure where no-one could get things right for whatever reason regardless of outspending most.

Apart from a few extra £££ on the pay check or a serious falling out with EH there is no reason to sit on Man Us bench rather than ours

He will certainly be paid more, that should be enough of a reason to want to go there. Dubravka earns £ 38,077 per week (£ 1,980,000), while Brandon Williams earns £ 65,000 per week (£ 3,380,000). Of course, we do not owe Manchester anything, 5m is the absolute minimum price we should be considering, or get any of their promising players on loan with an option to buy.

  3. I do not believe that we were in for both of them. Wilson's injury made us reconsider our options. I hope we still go for him since we already agreed on pretty much everything though?

Liverpool are paying like 100m for that unhinged Uruguayan, the going rate for one of the most promising <=22 year old forwards out there was never going to be 30-40m really.

And Napoli paid 75m for Osimhen as well (worth it now, of course).

Wtf! Just seen this. To be fair, I rarely see any of the players we have signed Any player he resembles who has played in the BPL before?

Tammy Abraham is the closest; however, Abraham is better in the air and more clinical. Isak is both faster and quicker, also a lot better technically.

  6. I agree with most of you, I think we should go for him and potentially a defensive midfielder. Not many exciting options for the right-wing position, unfortunately.

Depends really though, strikers are the most precious commodities to buy, getting a world class one can cost an absolute fortune. Is he world class? By all accounts he's the next big thing so yeah...I'm happy.

I certainly agree. I really do not want to be critical of the deal when a lot of you are happy about it. Let us trust those in charge and have fun for now.

Tell that to Howe and Ashworth, and also who they should get instead.

Wait it out and re-evaluate next summer. 75m can get you a top centre forward, that is just my opinion, though. Time will tell if he is worth that much.

  9. Sometimes transfers take a little more than expected to get announced. Emerson Palmieri was confirmed to West Ham a few days ago, and was not officially announced until after the medical test. Casemiro got two official announcements, so there is no one way how clubs go about that.

However, if we submit another bid, then it is safe to assume that Fabrizio Romano was wrong.

I'm being dense like but i can't put two and two together, what does this mean with regards to our Maddison interest?

That they are open to selling him. No intention of reinforcing the squad, and the process of selling the club may take a while. Cannot see them wanting to keep him under such circumstances, particularly when he is in his prime.

They may (I know absolutely nothing about how that works, but can the owners take the money for themselves?) also want to get as much money as they could before selling the club.

This is the most legit source for the Alvarez link.

Says the initial 30 million euros offer was verbal and that discussions are continuing.

No mention of them not wanting to sell before the world cup and no mention of them wanting 50 million euros (like the other tweets claimed).

This one may well have something to it.

Not familiar with this particular source, but I know that Mike Verweij is very reliable when it comes to Dutch football, particularly Ajax. David Ornstein and Alfredo Martinez's calibre.
