Fabrizio Romano on X: "🚨🟡⚫️ Jobe Bellingham has given his priority to joining Borussia Dortmund! Decision in principle has been made, as BILD has reported. ⚠️ Sunderland have currently no intention to negotiate under release clause value worth €40m. https://t.co/hj1hK99WXU" / X

He's a quality footballer, I watch him every week. He will go this summer to Dortmund, I actually think his name gets him a bad rep purely because people are always looking to compare him to his brother at every opportunity. He hasn't got the same ability as Jude and never will have but he will be a very good player in a top division in years to come. Dortmund will be buying him for his potential not for the here and now (Although I would expect him to play quite a bit when he moves) Birmingham giving him away wasn't strictly true, He wanted a clear pathway to playing senior football and bearing in mind he was only 17 at the time we presented that for him. We have numerous coaches and a sporting director who helped him and Jude massively at Birmingham through the academy and moved to us, We were simply lucky to get him as everything was aligned and made sense for both parties. The three midfielders in the team of the season this year are Bellingham, Hamer and Tanaka from Leeds. Bellingham is 7 years younger than both and his stats are better than both in quite a few metrics. He's definitely more of a box to box / breaking up the play midfielder than one that's going to bang goals in. If we get close to 40M Euro for him though, it's great business for us as it frees up a fair bit of cash for PSR or whatever the bollocks it is.

As I said, it was down to complete knackers just arguing the toss about everything Sunderland without being able to have any form of reasoned debate whatsoever. You are testament to it, I'll give you that.

A competent manager, a change in shift of just buying kids and a model coming to fruition of bringing players in and allowing them to go for a higher price so funds can be reinvested properly. EDIT : BTW I am not saying it's all rosy, We are going to have setbacks. Football clubs always do, especially when you are relying on a core group with an average age of about 21, but it looks more promising now than it did before.

How many months do you think are between August 2nd and September the 6th?

You aren't the brightest bulb are you?

I said the reason I wouldn't be posting was because people pile in with dire crack, which pretty much sums up your post above. For someone who clearly despises everything Sunderland, You don't half spend a lot of your time posting about them.

I have posted on here when we have been good, bad and absolutely shite.

Crying off a few month ago, Aye because there's been no domestic football you tatie. The issue with people like you, Is that you believe every single Sunderland fan is the same as those few deluded posters than post on SMB. It warps your sense of judgement so that you can't have any debate or reasoning whatsoever between normal football fans. 95% of genuine football fans know that you would beat us and are currently light years ahead of us, The gap is only going to increase as you are financially backed by a superpower, and we err, aren't. Sunderland fans at the moment have a right to be proud of our side, regardless of how shite and rubbish you deem us to be. The club has transformed over the last three to four years, We were watching absolute plodders in League One after back to back relegations. For the first time in years we seem to have a plan in place and it's good to see. We can't just go out and buy off the shelf, ready made players so have to be slightly more creative in how we operate. The sooner you realise all Sunderland fans aren't a version that you have decided to create in your own mind based on the internet, the better.

Whilst I agree there is a percentage of absolute nuggets that follow us, Rigg genuinely is a generational talent. He wont be here very long put it that way, Just have to enjoy him whilst he is.

What a waste man, a few years back he was probably the best full back in the world under Pep.

Genuinely no idea mate, Could be a good season if Le Bris hits the ground running and the players buy into what he's trying to do, Alternatively it could be a nightmare if we lose the first couple and any positive atmosphere around the squad is sucked away. We still need two or three signings in to start in the first team IMO. I will go for a midtable finish of around 10th. This will be the last post I make on here though, Can't even have any form of reasoned discussion without people piling in purely because I comment on a Sunderland thread. The crack from 75% of people on this thread is dire.

The team that played last night is the back up players from within the first team squad. The ironic thing about the comment in bold is the fact that from those that featured last night, They would have played even less last season if it wasn't for long injury layoffs for the likes of Alese, Huggins, Cirkin, Seelt, Evans and Clarke.
