I agree our fan base is very motional and reactive, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to justify this point in my discussion for my aims and objectives. Fingers crossed Maddison signs though

Sorry just realised I could have made that clearer. There is no direct criteria for the questionnaire, just the length of the questionnaire will determine what answers you select so it doesn't matter if you have or haven't attended under new ownership as there are questions for people if they haven't attended as well. It's just set up strategically so I only collect data from NUFC fans and not any other football fans

Thanks I completely agree with your view and I would have loved to further my study to this reason if I had more time and words available in my word count. The intention is to prove that fans do attend due to positive ownership relationships so my findings will be compared to secondary data under Ashley which takes into account the 13,000 season ticket boycott, rather than looking at the negative side to ownership.

Hopefully I will be publishing the dissertation and findings once completed, so I can let you know once its completed. thanks for your response

Hi all, I am a fellow NUFC season ticket holder, collecting data on fans views in regards to the impact the new owners have had on home attendances in comparison to previous ownership. The index is run by think fan engagement, who publish yearly rankings of the 92 football league clubs in regards to ownership dialogue, governance and transparency so it is separate to the EPL. What my secondary data suggests is NUFC home attendances have fluctuated over recent years as a result of boycotts against Ashley so hence, this investigation is centred around the impact ownership can have on fan attendance demand so interlinks with behavioural economics. It would be very interesting to see the data comparisons in order to support/refute previous literature within the field of sports economics as there is a load of depth to the literature. Obvs NUFC will have some form of data similar to what I am attempting to gather, however had to investigate something for my dissertation and given I have held a season ticket under the whole of Ashleys reign, I thought this would be interesting to investigate. The research aims to provide a new insight into sports economics, regarding factors that impact a fans attendance at live matches. Previous data suggests that fans are only impacted to attend football fixtures based on price of tickets, match/ league outcomes and whether family/friends attend etc. No previous research looks at the impact a sports fans relationship with a teams owner has on the fans attendance which I am investigating with this questionnaire. We ranked 87 out of 92 in regard to the fan engagement index in 2021 under mike Ashley, with our average attendances (excluding covid) 7% below the average premier league attendance. So I am looking for correlations to attendance and ownership and what part of the ownership impacts attendance as well refuting other literature given the range of questions involved.
