Nick's started 17 games up front in the league. That you feel the need to repeatedly lie to pad his stats speaks volumes
-
I dread to think what happens when Nick takes his customary three touches and gets brushed off the ball with one of our midfield 2 ahead of him
-
Yeah, it's this for me. And it's less playing to his strengths and more mitigating his weaknesses. I really fancy an egg and cress sarnie now for some reason
-
He's not quick or strong enough to play up front, so it was worth a try
-
4 league games. You stand corrected. Either way, it's not a lot of game time and it wouldn't have been tried out if Nick wasn't already struggling up front. I don't think that's being mismanaged, it's Howe trying something new to accommodate Wolter into our system and play to his strengths; his touch and passing ability. It didn't work unfortunately, Nick looked as slow, weak, lost and out of his depth in midfield as he did up front
-
Incredibly mismanaged
-
Nope. He's played most of his time up front. Like 4 games in midfield or so. Zero look in man. Zero
-
Zero look in? He's played more minutes this season than in any of his previous seasons. I like this forum but I do wish people would stop talking absolute shite
-
Na. Not every signing works out but we need to get these ones right. Most of his signings have been spot on so I still have faith
-
We played 4-5-1 not 4-3-3, and wonderkid Wolter came on in a 10 position behind Wissa later on
-
Eddie changed it yesterday and didn't get the result. You don't acknowledge that or give him the same props you're giving Farke
-
I don't think the majority of Newcastle fans were thrilled by Howe's appointment here either. First appointment from the new regime and it was a bit underwhelming to me. It's only once he's in and doing the job you realise what a good, hard working and likable manager he is. When he came in I expected him to stave off relegation, then consolidate our position in the league. I thought to reach the next step and start qualifying for Europe would have taken a bigger name. He proved me wrong and then some

Good post that, rgk. Nice little palette cleanser from reading people gushing over Steve Bruce and Daniel Farke
-
He's wrong about yesterday
-
Hall, Miley, Livramento, Osula and Anderson all young players who got game time under Howe. Minteh would have too if not for PSR shenanigans
-
Burn was fine yesterday
-
Whenever I've seen him he looks like a 13 year old who's had a growth spurt and isn't quite used to his body yet. Some good touches here and there but gets knocked off the ball too easily. Needs to add a yard of pace and put some muscle on as he enters adulthood, might turn out decent. Then I remember he's 24. Can't even grow decent facial hair never mind lead the line in the premier league
-
When has he looked class?
-
Saying we're still feeling the loss of one of our best players isn't a weak argument like
-
Woltemade and Wissa will never get it right, it won't matter how many games they play. We signed two duds to replace Isak. We tried for better but couldn't get any and were left trying to fill the gap with those two. It hasn't worked out. Same with the keeper situation. Pope has gone to shit, we couldn't get our first choice keeper in so tried to make do with Ramsdale on loan for a season. That's not worked either. I think it'll be easier to sign a better striker and keeper than it will be to replace Howe with a better manager
-
What are you talking about? Hall has played loads of games for us. Did you forget about that or is it more convenient for you to ignore it? He picked Burn for this particular game and gave his reasons. You don't have to like it but let's not ignore reality just because it contradicts the point you want to make
-
They didn't kick on anywhere. He still has the joint record for highest league finish with them
-
This thread is mental. One good pass in 20mins of football
-
Played 20mins, completed two passes. One was a great dink over the Arsenal back line and deserved to be put away, but one good pass per game is his average output and we need more than that
