    Yoane Wissa

You still didn't answer my question. Who is the other ST?

Some of you seem hopeful that Wissa is going to be Isak's backup.

    Referring to The PL only,

He's playing 90 mins a game at Brentford. If he's joining Newcastle to play on average 30 mins if Isak is gassed by 60 mins most games, then he's going from 2,929 mins to about 1000 mins.

That would basically mean that Wissa would be going from 2,929 mins last season to about 1000 mins. Which is about 11 full games. Who do you think Newcastle can sign to replace Isak if he leaves?

A player who scored 19 PL goals last season is not moving clubs to play as a backup. Who is this mythical Isak replacement that you're going to sign? The ST market is weak at present. Most of the high profile ST options this summer have moved clubs. Osimhen, Gyokeres, Sesko, Ekitike, David, etc. There aren't many options out there who could replace Isak directly. That's why Newcastle are now shopping around for the likes of Wissa.

Wissa is the replacement though. I don't think he'll be a backup player. He's a good stopgap for 2-3 seasons while reassessing the ST market.

An upgrade on Osula would be ideal, yeah. If Willock can stay fit, he's another good CM/AM option. Ramsey is a similar profile. Howe seems to really like energetic midfielders who can press and carry the ball.

Wissa isn't joining to play as a backup ST. He will be your main ST. He scored 19 PL goals last season compared to Isak's 23. Yes, he's an inferior player. But he will be a success if he scores 15+ PL goals. Wissa and Elanga together should be looking to combine for 30 PL goals between them. That would pretty much match the 31 combined goals between Isak and Murphy. You could maybe find a decent backup ST to upgrade Osula. Wissa: 15+ goals Gordon: 10+ goals Elanga: 10+ goals Barnes: 7+ goals Murphy: 5+ goals They should be the PL targets for the attackers. Bringing in a backup ST with 7+ PL goals in him would be ideal.

    Gordon/Barnes--------Wissa/Osula--------Elanga/Murphy Joelinton/Ramsey------Bruno G/Miley Tonali/Bruno G Hall/Targett-----Botman/Burn-----Thiaw/Schär-----Livramento/Trippier Ramsdale/Pope Backups: Lascelles, Krafth, Willock If you sign Wissa, I think you'll be fine for top 6 again.
  11. Yanited also had that included with the Sesko deal. Fuel your rage like Maximus Decimus Meridius.
  12. The difference between Chelsea and United is that Chelsea still sell players for a profit or small loss at worst. KDH will basically sign for Everton for almost the same amount Chelsea paid for him. One of the few times that United did well when selling a player was Dan James. They basically robbed Leeds. I'm tired of the beautiful game. It needs a shakeup. I personally would have loved the chaos that The ESL would have brought. Football is becoming boring with The PL the dominant league financially. I thought Newcastle were really going to cause chaos with their financial muscle. But it's just become PSR softporn. FIFA and UEFA ended up getting a sort of watered down version of The ESL with the new Champions League format and creation of the new FIFA Club World Cup. They were just mad that the clubs tried to form a breakaway without them getting a significant portion of the pie.
  13. Footballers are dumb. Dumb and greedy (usually not helped by agents). Man Utd has been a graveyard for footballers post SAF. They've signed numerous young talents (U23). Zaha, Shaw, Memphis, Bailly, Pogba, AWB, James, vdB, Pellistri, Sancho, Malacia, Antony, Højlund, Ugarte, Zirkzee are players who have underwhelmed or completely flopped. Shaw has played well for 2-3 seasons out of 11! Still at the club. Martial, Dalot and Amad are 3 of the few who have offered some genuine value. And even Amad was close to flopping until ten Hag was sacked. Yoro, Dorgu and Heaven need more time to be assessed. Early days. On paper, it makes more sense to work under Howe. A manager who has somehow even brought Jacob Murphy's game on to new levels. But that's not how things work, unfortunately. Sometimes players take calculated career steps like Haaland did.
  14. United have been shit under Amorim outside of a few European games against Spanish farmers. They've played well in 1 of their 4 pre-season games this summer too. Bournemouth. They struggled against both Leeds and Everton. Froggy is the ultimate fanboy though. He'll never learn.
