Been shown for a long time now, we can only play one way with our midfield set up, and when it doesn’t work, it’s bad. There’s no middle ground.

Not sure what we’ve been doing on training ground over that 10 day break, but not for the first time this season we look like a badly coached side. Hopefully get a break and equaliser and can use it as a wake up. But just like Forest/Luton home games this.

Precisely. Mentioned it in the rumours thread, but I’m all for our main target market being English talent, because the pool depth is huge. So many talented 17-21 year olds that will be dropping out of prem sides into L1/Championship that will quickly shoot back up because their technical ability is outstanding. The hard part in recruitment is getting the ones with the right attitudes that will put the effort in to maximise that ability over the years. Even outside of English, overall players in championship are good quality. Like if Liverpool are not going to bring Carvallho back into the fold next season, that’s a massive talent that’s available, before someone else in prem buys and 2 years later is valued at £70m+

When fit and confident, he’s great in that RCM role breaking into box. Issue is, he needs to be fit and confident for that, but also, that’s a very limited style of play. Not someone who’s going to drop into pockets and take ball on half turn, not going to play on left side, not going to play the deepest. So in particular games, where we need to move the ball, retain possession and do things differently, we’re restricted by having him on the pitch. Because the ball will need to be played to him in challenging zones otherwise we may as well play with 10 and jig the shape.

Feels a missed opportunity to put some sort of gap over 8th. Against bottom 2 in next 2 games. With the players coming back, I’m expecting 6 points, otherwise we don’t deserve top 7 and any form of Europe.

Should be once again a performance that tells Howe, there’s many ‘trusted’ guys that need sacking off in summer if we’re to progress.

Yep. Legit starting CB and RW, and if money allows, young goalkeeper who’s ready to challenge Pope. They’re the priority areas this summer. Wilson goes, a young striker too who’s capable of playing minutes if needed first season.
