Fulham vs. Newcastle United: 21/09/24 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

I have spent many years in Glasgow, I like their colorful vocabulary. For example "get yerself tae fuck, you're a serial loser pal" Maybe because I spend many days with Celtic and to a less extend Rangers fans, that's how I also have a understanding of a winning teams mentality. You should be grateful for my advice my friend -
Good back up for Joselu
-
Serial losers. Content with a cup run and a 6th place finish. You won't criticise your manager cause he's a nice guy and finished 4th 2 years ago in a season when Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs were awful.
-
I have no clue who he is but my advice would be Ruben Amorim at Sporting
-
This is the problem. Deep down you still associate yourselves with the likes of Bournemouth ans Burnley. The hallmarks of serial losers. If you never expect and demand to won something then guess what, you won't. That might be OK to a fanbase with a losing mentality but it's not good enough for players with strong mindset like Isak or Gordon and it sure is not the same mindset the owners have, they didn't buy a PL team to finish 6th every year. It's OK though, cause at least you have a team full of nice guys. Burn, Longstaff, Murphy and Almiron are all very average footballers, but at least they seem like good guys and are smiling a lot. Isn't it beautiful that they can live their dreams playing for the club. Sure, they don't help the team with something, but at least they try their best. That's what matters, yes? Serial losers.

OK, I will change my expectation. What is the commun goal for Newcastle fans. As a fanbase, what is the ambition, the dream. What is the identity. What I thought about this team being ambitious and hungry is wrong
-
What is a WUM?
-
Pardew and Bruce failed to meet the fans ambitions. Eddie Howe is doing the same. Just because you like him personally doesn't mean he isn't underachieving. Unless I'm mistaken and the fans are happy to accept finishing 5th-7th, have a decent cup run and prehaps take a scalp or two from one of the real big teams in the league. I think I have misjudged the situation with Newcastle. I thought this was a club and fanbase desperate for success, but I don't know what you actually want because someone of you don't act like you care about winning
-
Enjoy winning nothing for another 50 years then. Getting to a Carabao Cup 1/4 final and beating some of the "big 6" will be enough for you?
-
It puts pressure on under performing managers and players. Real Madrid, Celtic and Bayern to this to great affect. Remember how Pardew and Bruce were treated? Do that. Yes, we are no longer fighting relegation and are aiming for top 4, but that doesn't mean you give players, staff an owners an easy ride if they're under performing. The 22/23 season is over. Howe has no more goodwill credit in the bank
-
By demanding success. Try it. I don't think it's unreasonable for the richest club in the world to aim higher than 6th and a good cup run. The Saudis didn't buy Newcastle to make it into the CL once or twice a decade.
-
'Apparently? You say that like I said something factually wrong. Tell me, what has he won that could be considered a major honour. Being a nice guy, getting a tune out of Joelinton, not being Steve Bruce and being bookies favourite for the England job don't count as major honours.

Howe won't win anything. Bookmark this post. Print it. Frame it. Tattoo it. I don't care The point stands.

What is a wum -
Fine, but by the time all these substandard players feel ready to leave, all our ambitious players like Isak, Gordon and Bruno will be long gone
-
I'm sorry, I thought a forum was a place to discuss ideas. I didn't realise I signed up for an echo chamber.
-
You can observe reality. That is good. You want to know how many trophies I've seen Real and Spain lift in my lifetime? How many have you seen Newcastle and England win in yours. My point about me knowing what a winning team looks like is true. Eddie How's Newcastle is not a winning team. Bookmark this post.

Real Madrid and Todelo. I like Newcastle because of the movie Goal. It's amazing! Gracias, prometo que seré más positivo ahora! -

What have I said that was wrong? Am I not allowed to express a point of view that may be construed as negative because it's bad for morale? Is this the Soviet Union? I want the club to reach it's potential and I think the fans need to demand more. We should be beyond the stage of "just happy to have ambitious owners again". I say this as a Spanish man from Madrid who knows all about winning. Newcastle United is a serial loser club with weak mentality. Prove me wrong. Example: Losing to Man Utd in the LC final was seen as an achievement despite that it was against an atrocious Man Utd side Everyone happy with the CL performance because we pumped a PSG team who didn't play a midfield that night. -

I have my account approved today. I have many things to vent out. I'm sick of the serial loser and deluded element in the fanbase. Now I have this out my system, I can rest. -
Because every other English manager is pish and since when have other clubs fans been reliable sources at judging a Newcastle manager?! Sure, he's the best English manager, but he's still not good enough to win us a trophy and he sure as hell isn't winning a Euros or a WC. I'm Spanish, I know about winning these things you see. He won't get backed cause to raise money we have to sell a crown jewel which puts us back to square one

I predict a lousy 1-1 draw and a terrible performance for 70 minutes until Howe brings on the actual footballers to bail him out and paper over the cracks. The losers in our fanbase will then be waxing lyrical about how a point at Craven Cottage is a good result, we're still unbeaten and telling us to be grateful Steve Bruce isn't the manager anymore or something idk -
Let's be honest with ourselves. When the takeover happened, what we you expecting, what was your wildest dream? Now bearing that wildest dream in mind, is Eddie Howe the man to deliver it. If the answer is yes, you're not ambitious enough. What's he's done with the team has been remarkable and he'll always have a special place in our history, but he has his limitations. I want to be wrong, but I can't see him being the man to lead us to a trophy.

The best ability is availability. His body is made of candy floss, cobwebs and wheetabix and always has been. We should've cashed in on him in January while there was still value to be taken, same with Trippier.
