  1. With the new contract and being 'badly advised'....I'm guessing we were trying to wait until on results of this summer to confirm how high we could go with a new contract - he has 3 years left and we're obviously going to try and reward our best player. We thought we had time. I'd also guess Howe was assuring Isak this. His agent took his opportunity to paint the club as untrustworthy and lacking direction - they broke a promise once, etc.
  2. If there's a chance he's lining up against us in a month I'd guess Howe doesn't want him near training
  3. I think Sesko would be similar to the risk we took with Isak (remember, everyone laughed at what we payed for him). The usual suspects have hovered but no one was taken a chance - I think we need to. Having Wissa as a proven option while he acclimate would be a good strategy.
  4. I think they are leaking the 130m number to their legion of friendly journalists knowing its as high as they can go and it's below Isak's value.
  5. I think there's a difference between what Liverpool loving journalists in England can speculate, and what the accountants in Boston might think.
  6. And their owners would be factoring in a multi-year contract at 250k+ a week
  7. Liverpool Football Club might have 'PSR room', but I just think it would be wildly out of character for Fenway Sports Group to sanction another 200m+ total outlay to get this done right now.
  8. Based on how they operate elsewhere, I really can't see Liverpool's owners allowing a move for Isak right now. With the money they spent on Wirtz (and their renewals), I think it was Ekitike or Isak. Also does anyone really think Isak would go 'on strike'? Doesn't really feel like something he would do.
