Going to the Everton match with a Scouser

My dad is working on the sunday of the Everton game so I've got a spare ticket. One of my mates has asked if he can come with me, the problem is he's got a full-on scouse accent.

He's not a toffee (a Tranmere supporter with reds tendencies), but is it wise to go to the match (and have a drink before or after the game) with him? Are we likely to attract the unwanted attention of a few idiots?

He sounds a canny lad, but I'd still smash him in the mush with the back of a shovel.
