Guest Knightrider
I think we now have a core of responsible players who will take responsibility for their own performances and actions, players who will have standards and will adhere to these standards, whether the club's, the manager's or their own, which is what we've lacked for a long time. This will stand us in good stead. These type of characters will allow us to bounce back from disasters or overcome hurdles much quicker for example. I often wondered about the character at United stretching as far back as Sir Bobby. Too many for me were willing to absolve themselves of any personal responsibility or were unable to act as a reality check for themselves, leaving it up to others like Shearer, the manager who the team as a collective. That's why many were often deluded, like Shola for example or Dyer - no personal reality check system.
