While I don't agree with some of the starting line ups we've seen, I thought Allardyce attacked the transfer window with focus and determination. Best summer's work I've seen in a long time. merlin Posted October 2, 2007 Share Posted October 2, 2007 Usually, the reason for buying late in the transfer window is that either ;- The Club don't want to start paying wages etc until last poss minute; The player is hanging on to see if he can get a better deal elsewhere. It seems very short-sighted as both parties would benefit from more time spent with team-mates during pre-season training, but as with everything, money comes first....
