Thespence
Sporting Braga have confirmed Premier League interest in Peruvian defender Alberto Rodriguez. The 22-year-old, who is valued in the 8million euros (£5.8million) category, has been linked with a switch to Newcastle United and Aston Villa. Nicknamed 'El Mudo' (The Mute), Rodriguez impressed for Peru at the Copa America earlier this year and has now come to the attention of clubs in England. He played against Bolton Wanderers in the Uefa Cup group phase and has been watched by Premier League scouts. But Braga president Antonio Salvador confirmed he will not settle for a cut-price deal if he decides to sell Rodriguez. Value "It is true that interest in the kid from English clubs exists, but the subject has not been closed," Salvador told the Portuguese media. "It is possible that I will go to England personally to speak about him. "Alberto has a value in the market and Sporting Braga is not disposed to reducing it by a euro in any deal." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3005283,00.html
