When did we try and get Carrick Skirgey baby when Man Yoo got him? Aye, I am sure it was more than just a rumour.. We could have had him when SBR was in charge, but got Butt instead, I remember that. aye I think it was Souness that wanted him, I may be wrong but I think we did try. Robson wanted him again and was supposedly overruled by Shepherd and we got Butt (so the story goes). Not sure if he wanted to come in the 2nd instance but we were a better proposition then. One particular caller re: centre halfs - think it must have been Steve Howey's Dad/Grandad!! Talking about how the club hasn't had a real 'commanding' centre half since KK took a reserve centre forward and turned him into an England Centre Half!!
