Your arguement doesn't hold shearergol, as no one can foresee the future and know he was going to get injured. At the time Owen was a great replacement for Bellamy.

 

How many goals did Shearer and Owen score between them in those 11 games? I havn't got a clue, but im guessing 8 goals, over a whole season that's what..27 goals? That's not very bad now days.
