I'd go with

GK: Harper, Krul

DEF: Bassong, Taylor, Edgar

MID: Guthrie, Duff, Butt

FOR: Carroll, Ameobi

(plus the young 'uns)

 

Duff, Butt and Taylor are there because realistically we couldn't get rid of ALL the deadwood. But having said that, other teams rate Taylor highly for some reason and Wigan/Bolton are always linked with Butt.
