Paul Gascoigne held over assault Former England football star Paul Gascoigne has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm. The 39-year-old midfielder was held in South Kensington, west London, in the early hours. He was arrested after a 43-year-old man alleged that he had been assaulted at a nightclub in the area. It is not thought he required hospital treatment. Gascoigne was arrested at another nightclub and is being questioned at a south-west London police station. A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at approximately 0340 GMT by a 43-year-old man who alleged that he had been assaulted by another man at a club in South Kensington. "Following inquiries, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a separate club nearby at 0415 GMT on suspicion of actual bodily harm and is currently in custody at a south-west London police station." Gascoigne began his career at Newcastle United and also played for clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Glasgow Rangers and Italian side Lazio. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
