NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

Tbf what have the Journal got right all summer? They are guessing like all the rest of us.

Odds on them being absolutely spot on at this stage of the window tbh.

Aye they have waited till the perfect moment to guess one right

Dissapointing but what I expected if they have got it right mind.

Are Marca usually reliable?

No and RMC said the Debuchy link is BS apparently, as did Fred Hermel a french journo. It was started by france football who are hardly reliable at the best of times.

Not like it matters to us as we won't up our bid and a much more reliable source for RM news.... ElConfidencial said Maicon is the prime target but Perez doesn't want it.

Fred Hermel doesn't have a clue though, but the Marca article is pretty bereft of details or even "confidential sources".

Yeah i know but i'd thought id add that in there, RMC seem to be quite reliable though and there seem to think it's BS.

I think Marca just saw the france football article and decided to make a article on it for the paper tbh.

I'd imagine Madrid transfer news is pretty slow now after the Modric signing.

As i said though, it doesn't really matter either way as he's not coming here.

Mou has actually said today that their "squad isn't closed and ins and outs can still happen", so new signings are a possibility. They do have a hole at RB, too. It's true that Maicon's interest has more lineage than Debuchy's (who I had never seen linked to them)

Right - I'm depressed.  Officially. Expectations have bottomed out and getting anyone in now will be a bonus.  I remember sommat similar last year when I welcomed the signing of Obertan and felt he needed a fresh start

Like fuck can I bothered to wade through threads and threads of paranoia, etc.

I'm guessing it's been mentioned how convenient it is that we've went the whole summer hearing lots about slow moving incoming transfer stories and basically nothing really about about any key players leaving.

A week before the deadline and suddenly the likes of Cabaye, Tiote and Coloccini might be away and it's quiet on the incoming transfer front.  If the rumours of key players leaving hit fever pitch over the next day or 2 then I guess we'll all just be really relieved to get to the deadline unscathed, yeah?

Oh, and we didn't sign anyone?  Who gives a fuck, Tiote's still here you daft cunt.  Seems very transparent.

Pretty grim, isn't it?

Don't be so down mate, personally I'm just happy our players have another year's experience.

I don't think they had much clue on how this summer was going to pan out at the beginning, mind. Pardew was mentioning that we'd be having people in early and get them through pre-season with us, then obviously there was the euro's so no movement because of that and a lack of any bidding, then some very low offers that have been ridiculed.

It was always going to be very difficult to reach the heights of last summer, and even arguing the most important thing was to keep players goes no way in explaining why you're not firmly bidding for players you want then.

We need at least 2 for me. I still think our midfield is stronger minus the Anita signing than our defence or front line is without a singing. The Clyne thing absolutely baffles me as does Carroll. After such high hopes for the summer it seems to have been extremely reactionary. Disappointing.
