Other clubs' transfers

They're good young players and they'll appreciate in value if anything. Sensible 'investments' as much as signings.

£60m on Pickford and Keane ffs

90M on Bolasie, Pickford & Keane.

Would've been £120M if they signed Sissoko...

We spent 85m on players that helped us get relegated tbf.

I dont feel Everton have massively improved though. Then Lukaku goes, so they'll stay in 7th.

Good news about Donnarumma though.

Donarrumma agrees a new deal at Milan

I actually feel quite sorry for him, he's just a kid who's clearly been really badly advised.

Refreshing to see Everton confirming the fees instead of all this undisclosed bollocks.

They're just showing off..

ponsaelius

Milan are signing his shitty brother from Greece too apparently and paying him 1 million euros a year.

Raiola has fucked them so hard.

Everton are basically paying the fee these players may end up being worth in the future, especially the case with Pickford.

s*** is the operative word.

And also, ironically, could be omitted and would make exactly the same point.

Alot of jealousy towards Evertons spending in here, IMO.

Koeman is a good manager and will undoubtedly get the best out of these players.

for all evertons good (if a little loose) spending if they sell lukaku and don't splash on a £50m replacement they'll be worse off overall...they will need to replace his goals, fast

that could work tbf, he's a 15-20 man in the right setup imo plus a fit bolasie is going to make a fair difference to them

if they got sigurdson as well then they'd be in business

Giroud is possibly underrated imo. Not really sure, but always thought he'd do better in a team that provides more service from the wings as he has this very impressive knack of getting onto the end of crosses (good movement in the box and anticipation/reading of the flight of the ball). Never really seemed to be the right type of striker for Wenger's teams given the lack of pace, dribbling, etc.

Having said that, he's one of those who frequently gets his shots/headers on target but doesn't quite do enough with the ball to score, so it always seems like he needs several good chances to hit the back of the net.

The College Dropout

Really think people on here downplay the London factor to be honest.  Not saying it's right, but a massive factor for foreign players.

Yes it is.

Especially with us. We aren't Liverpool or Man United. We are better supported, that's it. We used to be able to afford bigger wages - not anymore. We aren't anymore likely to play in Europe or win a trophy like we used to be either. 10 years ago we were definitely a bigger club by any metric. Not anymore.

Beyond the super big clubs (i'm including Spurs and Liverpool here), there's Everton... then there's the rest that can offer similar wages. Then the others that can't compete on that front (Burnley, Brighton perhaps).

so you sell the f***ing club as it should be sold and offer them an extra few grand a week over west ham or palace in order to get players to get us back to where we should be

alas fat mike and the thumb run the show

So yes... pay more. We can't always do that!

not for every player no, but for the ones that can make a difference you have to until such time we get out of MA's back pocket and start acting like a real club

If Atleti sign Vitolo he'll be off to Las Palmas until January. Weird that they've come to an agreement before he's been signed, mind.
