Ivan Toney (now playing for Brentford)

Wouldn't have made the 25 man squad now he's over 21. Pretty sure he spent most of his time at the club playing for other clubs anyway. Probably couldn't find the training ground.

“Substantial six-figure deal” according to their owner:

Should sort out the possible loan fee for Marlon. Get in.

He's an average league one striker. Didn't look great at Scunny tbh, and didn't seem to gel well with the rest of the squad.

If we hadn’t stupidly given Carroll an extension and kept Gayle so long, £10m (well £7m if we’d get £3m back) is the sort of deal we could have taken a punt on as 2nd or 3rd choice striker.

I think he'll be a decent PL striker before too long.

If Watkins went for 30 million, this guy would surely command a similar fee

Another one that got away.

I think that was just unlucky, he was sold when Rafa arrived, maybe on advice from those already at the club. I would be surprised if Rafa know much about him.

Players need to play. He looked ok on loan from here to Shrewsbury Town and Wigan but nothing outstanding. The move to Peterborough came at the right time for his development.

He’d never have matured at NUFC and seemingly the loans weren’t working for him either. He needed to be cut and needed to learn from it. He made his career what it was because he finally decided to make something of his talent. Good on him, Love to see it.

Tbh I can't imagine he'd have become what he is today if he'd stayed. Armstrong, Toney those kinds went away and grew so well done to them

Says everything about how badly the club is being run when we spend £40mil on an absolute dud and let this lad go for next to nothing.

One thing I will say is that the scouts must have seen something in him, and ultimately they've been vindicated.

The same scouts have been taking pelters for recommending Joelinton, but that deal might have had very little to do with scouting, something altogether fishy about it.

The scout who found Toney is no longer at the club

yet the one who recommended a £40m Jowlinton is.
