Think he was assuming that sort of salary, but at a Villa or Spurs. Whoops.

He's 29 and never been more than a middling player. He should be over the moon tbh

The same reason why Maradona and Zico in the 80s chose two mid-table Italian teams rather than Liverpool or the others English clubs... higher salaries and the best championship in the world.

Then there's another thing to consider, apart from Lautaro who earns 9m/year there are only 3 or 4 Inter players who earn more than 5m... they can't give 5m to a 21yo without causing problems in the team.

nah just think it’s a bit shit (disappointing) in how lopsided the PL is in terms of finances. It’s mind boggling.

Former Man Utd and Burnley keeper

People were wondering why we disliked this prick the other day.

Stuff like this on top of his glory hunting, rabidly pro elite, pro feeder club anti real fan stylings

The College Dropout

I genuinely didn't notice/nor care that he didn't mention Dubravka played for us.

The Times reporting that Spurs are confident of beating Man Utd to Mateus Fernandes

Is that instead of Tonali?

Really? When you hear Dubravka you don’t jump to ex Newcastle player?

I agree not worth getting worked up about but did seem odd at best and very petty at worst.

Not worth getting worked up about but it's incredibly disrespectful to Dubravka who had the best days of his career as our #1 and considers himself a Newcastle guy through and through after he left.

The Butcher

The reported fees for Anderson, Tonali and Fernandes are quite mad. 80-120m for decent to good PL players.

It’s a sign of how rich the clubs at the top are. The only reason clubs are demanding those fees is because they can pay it without sweating too much.

I never in my life even rated Fernandes - hard for me to imagine a player going for that money when their midfield was fucking useless all season and they got relegated.

Dunfermline finally sign a proven goalscorer at a decent age that isn't constantly plagued by injuries in Oli Shaw.

Guaranteed to either break his leg on match day 1 or completely lose his ability to score goals.

As for the people talking about our plastic glasses wearing scoring youth sensation Andrew Tod, he's actually an attacking midfielder/playmaker.

I saw the bookies had Dunfermline joint second favourites along with Partick to win the league the other day, albeit Livingston were fairly short odds some way ahead. Is that an accurate reflection of the division/where you're at do you think?

For sure. The bookies always give us fairly good odds no matter how shite we are, but next season we should genuinely be in with a right good shout. Livingston are nowhere near as good as St Johnstone and Ross County and their sugar daddy were relegated again after being in the SPL the year before, chances are if they avoided relegation they'd improve vastly and be one of the favourites also.

We need a quality keeper, something we've been missing for years (apart from loanees), other than that any other signing will only be a bonus to our already excellent squad.

As a pessimist, I'm optimistic for once.

Exciting youngsters going for £100m on average.

Only those who benefitted before PSR can afford them.

But they'll still buy whatever players you target on top of that because well, they can.

The system works...

It’s called engagement farming.

He baits Newcastle fans because it’s generally low hanging fruit, a lot bite easily.

Think about how disappointed we Europeans are with the PL in terms of finances ;)

I'm happy that Palestra is going to Chelsea but I fully understand Inter's anger at having a player stolen from them by a Club that couldn't buy him (or essentially couldn't spend the money).

Did you share the same disappointment when Serie A was dominating financially?
