The 23-year-old Charlton Athletic hitman, joins top players in the WMG football stable including Steve Gerrard, Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Owen, Scott Parker, Jamie Carragher, Emile Heskey, Jonathan Woodgate, Jermaine Jenas, Alan Shearer, Tim Cahill, Michael Dawson and Wes Brown.

Darren, who joined the Premiership club from Ipswich in June 2005, has made a name for himself with the England Under 21’s with nine goals from only 14 appearances.

He was rewarded with a call-up to the senior squad for the friendly against Denmark in 2005 and earned his first England cap as a starter against Uruguay in the March 2006 friendly at Anfield.

Darren has been linked with various other clubs and was unlucky to miss out being a member of the England World Cup squad for the finals in Germany last summer. WMG leading agent Neil Fewings will take responsibility for managing Darren.

WMG’s chief operating officer, Sam Rush said of the signing: “Darren is a young and hugely promising player and has all the characteristics of the sort of individual we want to work with at WMG.

“He has a fantastic track record of goal-scoring at every level he has played at and we believe that WMG has the resources and the skills to help shape Darren’s career and future in a very positive way.”

yeah i remember SFX Sport Group being mentioned on something or other before. They're an agency, or "client representation". So they wont just do transfers, any kinda appearance / job for active and retired sportsfolk.
