Guest chiu2k
Question: What will happen if West Ham beats Middlebrough in the FA Cup semi-final (or West Ham gets the FA Cup), and Middlebrough wins the Uefa Cup? Does it mean that we can't get into Uefa Cup even if we finish at 6th?

If the situation is as in your question 5th and 6th are still UEFA Cup spots

If Middlebrough wins the Uefa Cup, will they be given a place to defend the champion? (Liverpool case last year) And if they both finish outside the top 6, that means only the team finishing at 5th can get into Uefa Cup because only 3 places are available. A place through the league (5th), a place through the FA Cup and a place through the Carling Cup. The Carling Cup place has already gone to the league (i.e. 6th). There is a space already available for the UEFA Cup winners whoever they be so if Boro win the UEFA Cup, they don't take a spot from the Premiership, there is already a space available for the winners of the competition. Guest ToonGeneral
How are Blackburn above us right now, is it on Alphabetical order? We have scored exactly the same amount of goals and conceded exactly the same. Surely as we beat 3-0 and they only be us 1-0 then we should be above them? Guest Geordiesned
We could do with the Smoggies being out of both cups before they play Bolton ot they'll field their reserves again.

If equal after points and GD it goes to no of games played(less higher)...if still equal on all fronts then it goes by alphabetical order.
Elma
Would be surprised and delighted if we get the three points against Brum to be honest...they are doing very well atm and fighting for their lives. We might have Emre back, but that's about it unless something drastic changes this week. Think we'll struggle.

La Liga operates a head to head option, the Premeirship doesn't.

afar
I think for sure we need to win both games, but I have a feeling that that might not be enough for 6th, 7th could be a tall order too with the fixtures the way they are, having said that if someone had said we'll finish 8th this season a few weeks back I would have been delighted. Umer
The Brum game is so important for us. We will be playing before Blackburn (who kick off at 5.15pm) and Bolton (play Sunday), so if we win we'll be putting so much pressure on them to do the same. But the game itself is a must win for Brum as they are already 2 points behind pompey... they could be relgated if they don't beat us. I think that will make this harder than the Chelsea game.
