The Spartans were beaten in last season's final by Newcastle United Reserves, Alan O'Brien scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory with former Magpie Jamie McClen on target for Blyth. The Conference North side include former United Academy goalkeeper Adam Bartlett, while another ex-Newcastle youngster Mark Grant could line up for Morpeth.
