  1. I just wonder what happened. It's a 10m disaster.

I do think the club doesn't have a good system of adapting foreign players ....

The success rate is really worrying. The point is, there's no world-class team that only consist of local players, and in fact, the team is an international all-star.

We have a fair few succeses, im quite happy with a majority english speaking team anyway tbh! The spine of the best English teams is made up of English players barring really Arsenal though in their best period one of their strongest links was the english centre back and one of their best player an English left back.

  2. I dont claim to be "ITK" but I do know someone who has a mate who works at the club and have heard from quite a few others who claim to be "ITK" that Luque is very lazy in training and also from what people have seen and commented on during warm ups, the way he has been frequently left out/last choice seem to suggest this.

There will be a reason why Luque has fallen out with Roeder, Roeder isnt the Souness type of manager who will fall out with players for little to no reason.

  3. Because although shite, at least Shola tries!

If you call the amount of time he has been given in comparison to shola I hardly see your  point

Because Shola works his arse off for the team and if he can just about run he will play through the pain to play for us.

I very much doubt Luque would show the same commitment!

  4. Matty's sig is at odds with his view Shola doesn't get half as much stick as others ;)

It is a funny view, its like saying "why the hell did no-one take the p*ss out of Hitler only having one ball"

Yes I will be soon releasing a book on ways to use Hitler in examples of things  bluebiggrin.gif

It's to be called 'How To Devalue Your Own Argument' ;)

Bringing a mentalist dictator responsible for murdering millions of people and trying to take over the world only adds weight to issue's like "Is Luque actually a good footballer"  tongue.gif

  6. Shola has hit form under Roeder, why drop him for a player who doesnt look to have the apetite?

See, that's my point. He's hit form and still barely fits in a premiership team. You think he's playing well cos you know how incredibly shit he is. His hitting form is losing the ball more times then anybody I can remember and a first touch that goes 8 yards away from him (if he's brought it down well). Looks like he woiuld make a good squad player at Watford.

You sound like one of those that will slate Shola no matter how he plays tbh.

Spot on, his record under Roeder is something like a goal every 2 games isnt it? Also games like West Ham although he didnt score he put in a good prerformance

    BUT

its because he is so sh*t a 1in2 goal ratio looks good!

  7. Im talking about selling him on, yes he has been rubbish for us but im sure the clubs in Spain have seen enough to know he is actually a talented player.

And yet there is jsut a rumour abotu one single spanish club coming in for him,. despite it surely being known he was finished here.

If we listen to rumours (which i personally take with a huge pinch of salt) I think there were about 3 clubs in for him and we didnt think the offer was good enough. We dont know what the offer was, it could have been something the fans would have bitten their hands off for (say £5m) but Shepherd decided after losing so much on Boum this summer he wasnt prepared to write off another £4.5m so quickly.

Obviously all made up but so is half of this thread anyway  bluelaugh.gif

  8. I still think it was more personal problems between Roeder and Luque nothing more if you are going to pay so much money for a player and not play to his abilities then that makes Roeder a bad Manager. Although he seems to have  woken up with Martins now hasn't he?.

Roeder didnt pay that much money for a player though!

Its the same situation as Rafa has found himself in with Cisse, one manager overpays on a player then you are left to sort out the mess. Do you think Liverpool will get anything like £14m for Cisse, does this make Rafa a bad manager?

  9. Im sure/hope we can get a decent amount of money for him from Spain (enough to buy someone more useful like Nugent)

We got £3.3m (rising too) for Boumsong and believe it or not Luque has actually been a very good player in another league, he isnt a sh*t footballer, he is obviously not cut out for this league, there is a difference!

    |I cna only speak for how i seen him play here.

I had never heard of him before, to any degree, but i have seen him play for us, and the vast, vast majority of times, he's been utter gash.

Doesnt mean he is a sh*te footballer though! I never personally witnessed Hitler being evil but im pretty confident he wasnt the nicest fella around.

  11. I think the most important thing is that because we are arguing as to what his best foot is and whether he could have hit a shot he missed with his right or left after just four games, he must be quite good.

I have very high hopes, I wont say exactly how high because people will laugh at me and call me an idiot but lets just say i think he has a bright future here.

  12. Cant believe people are arguing over which is his dominant foot.

He's left footed I can assure you. Just because he wouldnt hesitate to use his right to shoot doesnt mean he's 2 footed. Observe how he controls and dribbles the ball, you'll find that he's predominantly left footed.

The fact that he has scored almost as many goals with his "weaker" foot as he has with his left suggests to me he is two footed. Yes he has a stronger foot but all two footed players do!

  13. With the two footed argument, people are saying he only shot with his left yesterday - well thats because his left foot was the most sensible to use in the positions he was in.

People seem to forget the perfectly weighted right footed pass while running at pace to Duff which set up our first goal, or the decent right footed effort from 20-yards that only just skyed the bar against Levadia Talinn.

To be honest I think the chance he maybe should have scored in the first half would have been more suited to his right foot as that would have curled it towards goal whereas unless he hit it with the outside of his left and done a ood job of it he would have missed which ultimately he did.

But i still agree he is two footed  bluelaugh.gif

I disagree, due to his slightly sluggish first touch, the ball arrived at his left foot, he had to choose between shooting on his left, or moving it onto his right and risk being closed down. Therefore shooting with his left was the best choice, only he spooned it.

I have only seen it the once so will agree with you then, I am just going from memory of his position in relation to keeper and goal but cant really remember his balance or how far the ball was across his body  bluebiggrin.gif

  15. His left is as good as Michael Owen's right. Vice versa applies for his right. Trust me on this one ;). He's not two-footed.

Of his 50 goals he scored for Inter it was something like 24 with his left, 20 with his right and the rest with his head.

That to me suggest he may be two footed...

  16. The real positive he seems to have which is something players coming into the English league is he puts in a real graft, will run his arse off and although he is quite small will battle as much as he can!

It was really good to hear, right near the end the commentator saying Martins put in a block resulting in them having a corner. Just shows he is there willing to work for the team anywhere on the pitch until the end and thats something added to his pace and ability which will help him a huge amount in settling into this league.

Future looks bright for this one and all jokes aside at 21 years old lets hope its a long one for our new number 9.

  17. Im sorry, im tired but I really have no clue what you are on about..

I put no faith in the views of anyone connected to that massive club

To be fair i would guess they know a sh*t player, they have seen a few!
