  1. It was alluded to in the article about Sir Bob that Harris was going to make an important announcement this week over the sale of the club, but nothing more. I think they've been a bit inventive.
  2. I'm heartened that he included India as one of the countries where investment might come from. It could be a clue that Ambani has thrown his turban into the ring. Why would Ambani have a turban? he's not even Sikh. Because Tron is a big bloody racist.
  3. Anyone else heard the name of Alexi Mordashov mentioned again or is that just me?
  4. He wants a longer term deal than the match to match one offered, apparently.
  5. Nathaniel is just brokering the deal as far as I know.
  6. I do tend to talk down to idiots like yourself. I can't help it.
  7. Bollocks. Shearer is one of the few who would be given a chance. Take your head out of your backside and see sense - appointing an unproven manager at this juncture is much more of a risk than employing someone who has managed at this level before.
  8. We were drinking in the last chance saloon when Keegan came here the first time around. Just because he was a good manager doesn't mean that Shearer will be too. For every Keegan and Hughes there are dozens Souness' and Gullit's. We shouldn't go around appointing unproven managers unless we have no other option.
  9. And Tartar if he's been down Clayton St. Chippy
  10. Shearer shouldn't be allowed to even think about taking the job until he's proved himself.
  11. It's working for the Mackems. Apparently it's 4 Nigerian businessmen who don't want to be named yet, Nathaniel is just the spokesman. No matter where you're from you don't become someone capable of buying a Premiership football club if you don't have some business nouse. If they're willing to throw £400m-£450 million at the club then they must have got wind of interest from other parties as SSN are reporting. The most important thing at the minute is to get someone in as soon as possible so we can avoid relegation. If it is the Nigerian group then i'll give them a chance rather than look down on them with scorn because some racist notion at the back of my mind tells me that Nigerian's can't be trusted, unlike some people on here. Piss off with the positivity man. It's going to be a disaster, they're taking the piss, we're fucked etc... *snaps crayons*
  12. Haven't the Arab lads in charge of Man City said the same? You can guarantee they'll be hoying money about like it's going out of fashion come January. Talk is very cheap nowadays.

  14. I would to, simply because both Wise and Ashley said that Keegan was the one who bought and sold the players only to release an official statement after KK left saying he never did and he knew it.
  15. I think everyone should at least sign up and show their support at this early stage. It doesn't stand for anything yet and you can only make what you want of it by getting involved. There's no cost to put your name down on the list, so you've got bugger all to lose. I'm not involved behind the scenes, I just think it's the best chance the sensible supporters have had in a long time to finally get their voice heard.
  16. It doesn't need to be a Geordie manager, it needs to be a good manager. Where they come from should be at the very bottom of the list of requirements.
  17. Ashley is a rich businessman is he not? It is possible to build a succesful club which can stand on it's own feet and sustain itself. It's not like we are buying league 1 players for goodness sake. I don't think it is a good idea to have the future of the club totally reliant on one man and whatever his whims might be. If Roman leaves Chelsea then what? Just look at the state of their books. It's crazy. They would go straight down. No one would want to touch a club in such a financial mess. Ashley is rich but soon he'll not be rich enough. You can build a successful club now with a bit of nouse and careful spending but will you be able to in years to come? I doubt it. Even Arsenal have got Usmanov to fall back on when they inevitably start to get pushed out of the top four or five. Come to think of it when was the last time Arsenal won a trophy? I agree it's not a perfect way to run a football club but it's looking increasingly likely that if you want to be successful you need a super rich billionaire to throw stupid money at you. Abramovich coming in was a wake up call and seemed to kick start a spate of takeovers by people who were richer than the owners of yore but not as rich as Abramovich. This Abu Duabi United investment has raised the bar even higher. I'm not saying it's a good thing. In a perfect world stuff like this wouldn't even be an issue but it needs to be addressed.
  18. We can get all moral about it but this is modern football. From now on clubs are going to be bought and sold by rich businessmen around the globe and used as playthings. If it's a straight choice of being left behind and falling away from the pack or jumping on the bandwagon and winning stuff then I want to be on the bandwagon.
  19. He's been raped by bigger boys, American History X stylee
