Thinking about it a beach ball isn't really going to change the direction of a leather football being hit hard is it? I think it would have been harsh to disallow it too. Even in the 2nd half, we couldn't hit a barn door from 3 paces though. For strikers they're not striking well. Like a wet match, when it comes to "striking" in fact. True enough, but we had chances, and had the ball in the back of the net. At the moment, we aren't scoring, and if we go a goal behind we give ourselves a lot to do. And to go a goal down in this league is quite bad, tbh, because the standard of finishing in general is woeful.

While I agree with everything--players out of position, not using target men effectively, etc.--the truth is that if we had played the entire match with the same endeavour and passing game we showed in the second half, we would've won that match.

That's ridiculous, even by your standards. The problems that I predicted would happen in each game fucking happened. Not trying to blow my own trumpet, just point out that Hughton got it wrong when many of us not being paid X amount seeemingly got it right. Lovenkrands on the LW basically reduces you to ten men, it's blatant. Harewood is not a battering ram type striker and never will be. Today he was used as such and Lovenkrands was played on the LW and we predicably offered nowt going forward. If you think formation was the main problem yesterday then you're as slow off the mark as Hughton, tbh.
