I don't understand all the vitriol directed towards Dyer, seems to be just because he's paid a lot - which applies to 100% of PL players.
I'll admit he hasn't set the world alight, or maybe lived up to his potential completely, but he's putting together a good spell of fitness and I think he'll be an asset to the squad next season.
It's mad to suggest Sam is 'pleading' - all he says is he explained his vision and wanted Dyer's buy-in. Very sensible management.
I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the boy has some talent, but from time to time just can't be arsed to pass the ball to someone in his own team. He's let the club and the fans down too many times.

Also another midget.

The cynic in me tells me that no transfer will be completed today, as we wont want to be overshadowed by England.
And the cynic in me says the controversial transfer will be completed today, so that it can be overshadowed by England.

Get rid of both and get in Viduka and Anelka.
Play the 4-3-3 alternating between Anelka and Viduka as our lone striker, and sometimes play both together at times in 4-2-2.
Maybe buy one more youngish striker with pace and height as an alternative to Anelka should he be injured, while using Ameobi as an alternative to Viduka.
The first radical, thought provoking and intelligent post in this thread. blueyes.gif
Suggesting 4-2-2 is radical, but neither thought-provoking nor intelligent.

Get a grip of what? Life? Reality? History? Reality and history say that both Hitler and Stalin are terrible being who have caused millions of death due to their personal greed, fantasy and bigotry.
Oh, come on. Stalin never killed people for those reasons. He killed them for political reasons, and because of paranoia. He may have been a brutal, mass-murdering lunatic tyrant, but he was no bigot.

I think it's OK as long as he's fit to play football (which includes being in a team, of course). It's not like his job is to supervise children. He's a footballer, and a few disciplinary problems aren't as bad then as using performance-enhancing drugs. His violent temper isn't going to be a part of his identity as a 'role-model', but being a lazy spoilt brat is part of Dyer's. We're not putting people at risk by signing him, and we aren't cheating at the game of football.
We need a few right bastards now that Bellamy and Bowyer have left.

I believe I used Stalin for my avatar for a long time. No worse than Souness, tbh.

In my country, all advertising for alcoholic drinks is prohibited. But surely children shouldn't be taught that bland drinks like Carlsberg and Carling are real beer anyway.

Re: the poll. Happy? No, but excited. I have no idea how this will work out. It's a huge gamble. I tend to like them during the summer. Gives me something to look forward to.

Based on the Norway - Malta game I'd rather see us sign Bjørn Helge Riise tbh.
Based on the Norwegian league so far this season (it starts in the spring up in the cold North), I think that's a reasonable idea. He's a good player, seems fairly consistent too.

Norway 4-0 Malta
We should really take a look at (the new and improved) Stefen Iversen, was in the golden boot list this season and he scored today, turned himself from an average player to the perfect target man, still 30 and we can get him for cheap.
What?! NO! I like Steffen Iversen, but he'll never be a Premiership player again. You have no idea how much faith Rosenborg have put into him when he's been off form; he's been allowed to play himself into form instead of doing his job in training. He's good for Rosenborg (and, to a degree, for Norway), but that's because he's treated as someone special. In England, he was perpetually injured.
-
Was shite against Malta today, and subbed off after 60 minutes at 1-0. The game ended 4-0 to Norway.
Edit: Apparently, he had some stomach problem, so it can be excused.
-
According to his agent Rune Hauge (who is a crook and a liar) Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham also want him. But maybe if we could send Duff in the other direction. Nah.

Isn't it amazing that even with such an apparently wacky mathematical formula, Ronaldo still comes out tops.
A clock which has stopped shows the correct time twice a day. This list can only do one right out of 403.

So it doesn't bother you that Milan should never have qualified for europe last year? It doesn't bother you that a corrupt team have just become champions of Europe? What message does that send?
I'd much rather the scousers had won tonight. Justice would have been done. But once again we've found out a simple fact of life: the devil is Italian.
You're obviously correct, but the feeling of schadenfreude (why don't you English people get your own word for that?) is a whole lot stronger when Liverpool lose to an inferior team (on the day).
-
Maldini was worse than Bramble tonight, tbh.

I am a rather new member of this forum.
Aren't there some kind of rules in this forum? or moderators?
Yes, there are. They don't react much to petty bickering, though. Just don't post Youtube clips or fixture lists.

He's injured most of the time, so he won't do much harm. The rest of the time, he's distinctly average.

Apparently not going back to Oz after all.

I hope he signs for Sunderland."We have had discussions with Craig Moore's agent over the last three or four days and unfortunately we have been unable to reach an agreement on his salary," Roar chief executive Lawrence Oudendyk told the Sydney Morning Herald. It would appear Moore feels he can still secure a contract in a major European league.
Oudendyk added: "Craig is a very good player and is still able to earn far more money overseas than he can earn in Australia. Regrettably that puts his services out of our reach."
-
Well, Scharner is quite good at attacking set pieces. Of course, that won't help when the free kick hits the first defender.
-
Paul Scharner is a very good player. I saw him alot in Norway. He can handle many position( CB and CM). He's smart, have a good right foot and he's hard working.
I would've been over the moon with Leighton Baines.
Paul Scharner would also give us one thing we sorely lack: height. He's tall, and knows how to head a ball. We might as well buy Raymond Kvisvik and start scoring from corners (joke).

So when playing away to Man U, we'll field a team of midgets who beat the opposition to death with a stick. Sounds good to me.
-
A definite improvement for our defence, and without spending money at all. Sam is a genius.

So you didn't see him against Reading, then?
