  1. As much as i deteste the guy I cant ignore what he has done with the Sunderland side he has taken over and although extremely premature I'm getting the feeling that he could turn into be a top top manager though only time will tell with him. If Sunderland come up can he keep them in the premiership, can he make them top dogs in the north east is a question that I am thinking of quite a bit. Getting a good draw at Birmingham tonite aswell has made me wonder, Are Sunderland the best side in the championship? sounds funny I know but since Keane took over look at how the mackems have been doing? bloody fantastic, He has had the occasional loss but in general its only been one direction for Sunderland this season and thats continuing to rise.

So my question to you is do you think that Roy Keane will become a good manager? I suppose one thing i look at is that with Sunderland nothing was expected this season after the terrible start they had but now he has got them to a good position he has totally tranformed their season. Could he do the same at a club with high expectations from the off?

  2. Flying from Teesside is possible too.

I flew from Teesside to Amsterdam a couple of months ago for the England game. easy enough to do and much easier and less hassle than Newcastle airport (hardly any queues etc)

Prices arent too bad aswell i dont think.

  3. I'll be renewing. It took me long enough to get a season ticket and i certainly aint chucking it now. Ive watched a lot of poor football whilst being a season ticket holder and ive also watched a lot of good football. I'll still be there next season.

  4. It will be close for the scum, they are very much in form in the league and I wouldnt bet against them finishing in the playoffs at the very least this season. But there are a lot of good sides at the top of the championship so its not going to be plain simple. I love the derbies but dont know if i want them back up just yet.

  5. I think it's about right now tbh. Not great but not bad all things (injuries especially) considered. We should though consider Reading to be within our grasp as a target, albeit an ambitious one for this season.

Who would have said we would struggle to keep up with Reading at the start of the season eh!

  6. With 27 games gone has your prediction of our final league position changed at all?

There is still a lot of football to be played in the premiership and the season is far from over. As it stands currently we are in a good poisition to push on and possibly win the league (i kid). But we are in a poisition where we could push for a uefa cup place come the end of the season. The only thing that worrys me about Newcastle is that we are far too inconsistant. Results against Man United and Liverpool are overshaddowed by poor results against Sheffield United and Birmingham (though that was the FA cup).

I still dont believe we will finish top 6 due to the fact we are too inconsistant and have riden our luck a lot this season against teams. Winning games in which we have been second best in Tottenham and Villa spring to mind. Start of the season i predicted us to finish somewhere around 8th to 10th and I think thats where we will end up this season.

  7. were lucky in the fact we have tied him down to a 5 year contract, he started really slowly but has slowly adapted to life in the Premiership. I believe that him and Dyer have been our best attacking players this season. Sibierski has scored a few goals and some crucial ones but to be honest i still dont rate him much at all. Milner has chipped in with a few goals but its hit and miss with im sometimes i feel.

I echo the comments that the fact that stands out is that he has left a team top of the italian league to come and play regular football. He is fond of Newcastle because of the opportunity he has been given and the fact he has exploded onto the scene but I find it hard to believe if he continues to grow and become better that he will fancy his chances at a club playing higher level football. For our sake I hope its later rather than later.

  8. Dyer is a striker, doesn't matter how unfair it is to Sibbers, I want him on the bench for a Dyer/Martins partnership.

Actually, I'd even prefer Sibbers to be AM (he played there in City didn't he?) to allow for Martins and Dyer

Butt is out for Fulham, yeah?

                    Parker

    Milner                        Duff

                  Sibierski

          Dyer              Martins

Sibierski shouldn't be in the first 11 at all tbh.  Had a nice run where he kept scoring when we first got him but he's plainly not good enough.

Agreed! He scored some vital and important goals for us but he isn't a good player and he looks clueless on the ball at times. Yesterday he was poor i thought.

Didnt Dyer tell SBR that his best position was upfront? I'm sure I remember hearing about that.
