  1. I echo other people's thoughts that if Robson had came in when Keegan had left we would have probably won the league and possibly became a threat in Europe. Though we will never know. Deffinatly the second best manager we have had in recent times.

A legendary Newcastle manager? possibly in some people's eyes though he never won anything with Newcastle despite making us one of the most popular and entertaining sides in England during his reign.

    Thank you bobby.

  2. Best thing to do is to try and get moved into the Newcastle end. I think you will get away with being in the birmingham end being a bairn n all. But still try and get in the Newcastle end, if there are tickets still available for the game (there was last time i heard) in the newcastle end then i can't see any trouble. If not another option could be to fork out more money for the Newcastle end.

  3. 1) NUFC Player of 2006

Shay Given, Has kept us in games and been playing at a constant level unlike a lot of United players.

    2) NUFC Young Player of 2006

Steven Taylor, Has gone about his business quietly yet confidently and effectively.

    3) Best game of 2006

Sunderland 1-4 Newcastle United. For Obvious reasons!

    4) Worst game of 2006

Manchester City 3-0 Newcastle United. Was Souness' final game in charge of the team but the way the lads played that night more or less summed up what our club had became. We had gone from a top 6 club to a club playing poor unnatractive football.

    5) Best NUFC Goal of 2006

Scott Parker v Charlton. Scott was getting booed everytime he touched the ball from the Charlton fans but his fantastic strike shut them up ;)

    6) Best goal conceded in 2006

    not sure really...

    7) Favourite Alan Shearer moment of 2006

Scoring a penalty against Sunderland in the 4-1 win. It was fitting that it was his last competitive goal. And one which meant so much to him personally.

8 ) Best atmosphere at SJP in 2006

Newcastle United 1-0 Chelsea (last game of the 2005/2006 season)

    9) Best away game of 2006

Sunderland 1-4 Newcastle, again for obvious reasons!

    10) Best opposing player in 2006

    again unsure

  5. Personally enjoyed the one's at Watford;

    "Are you shagging Elton John?"

    And Watfords reply 5 mins later of;

"Are you shagging Ant and Dec?"

    ha yeah fucking brilliant!

Tell all the boys you know,

    Newcastle are going to Glasgow.

    quality chant aswell ;)

  6. So what is the general thinking between fans? Is this talk shite or do you think there is some foundation.

Ive heard reports that Benitez is lining up a bid for David Villa and will launch a £25m bid (dont shoot the messenger)

Personally, I think Crouch will be contempt at his position at Liverpool at the moment, He will probably wait unitil the summer before deciding his future. Also, if we have a reported £10m to spend this January, how much will Crouch cost!? considering that we are keeping close tabs on Upson and the two youngsters from Southampton and Derby! These two lads have been given high price tags by their clubs.

  7. There are still some cocks who think he's average

Arguably the best money we have ever spent and we will realise just how good a 'keeper he is when he's gone. I'm more conecrened about replacing him one day than I was replacing Shearer. Goalkeeping is such a specialist position it will be very hard to pick up a top top 'keeper. Hopefully Krul will develop into one, I have high hopes of him.

Aye my thoughts aswell, Ive never seen this Krul lad, didnt catch the Palermo game but my dad was adament that he should have started yesterday over Pav.

  8. Give him one when he retires, aye. It's shit doing it when they're still playing, like the Rob Lee one. Which everyone has forgotten.

    Unsurprisingly.

Thats what I mean, I'm not on about giving him one now, I'm saying that he should get one absolutely no question about it, Shearer got one, Lee got one, Given is owed one.

  9. I think it's easy to forget just how long Shay Given has been at the club, We signed him from Blackburn in 1997 and by the time this season has finished it will be 10 years he has been at the club. Put into account that his contract extention will keep him here for another 4/5 years, Providing hew retires then he will have spent close to 15 years at the club.

In that time He has been regarded by many as the best keeper in the premiership and to Newcastle fans the saving grace between the posts that has kept us in games and kept Newcastles position in the league safe. It's only fitting that Given also has a testimonial, although a long way off.

It would be criminal of Newcastle to not let the guy have a testimonial after the years of loyal service he has given the club, lets not forget if he wanted to really leave there would be no shortage of offers from other premiership clubs. I hope the board of St. James' recognise this and do what is right.
